Some schools are slower than others, unfortunately.

Well, only one class tomorrow and I can sleep late! 😀 I also have a mock interview tomorrow, hopefully that can give me some insights on what I have 2 days to fix. :laugh:

Morning everyone! im visiting a friend in Norfolk and his friend is a 4th year at evms and was nice enough to show me around last night. It was really cool to actually see a med school haha. for everyone just saying that evms is a safety school, it seemed quite nice to me! although I guess i haven't seen any others yet though so i have nothing to compare it to😛 good news is-he and this other 4th year we ran in to both said that the journey is worth it and they're really happy they did it...in 5 years that'll be us!!


as far as interview news, got invites from vermont and penn state!!🙂

just scheduled my interviews-im going to have the craziest week ever starting sept 14th!!! interviews on mon, thurs, fri, and the next mon...in 4 different states!

Wow. My worst right now is Sept 22, Sept 29, and Oct 1. Kinda hoping to get one for Oct 2 too, since I don't have class that day.
 
I would like one more to place it somewhere around later September. But none is coming so far.

i'd be willing to bed good money that more are coming your way. you have amazing stats and it seems like you have a really cool background too. in a few months i bet you'll have tons of choices🙂

i'm still at 0. but i'm blaming the combination of mstp and my dreadfully slow premed committee.

oh my goodness!!!!! and !!! some more! talk about a busy week. make sure you have plenty of nice clothes to wear, as you won't want to be doing laundry every night! by the end of that week you should be so on top of your answers that you just walk around as if you're in an interview. hehe.

i'm afraid if i get even two interviews in the same week i'll have the same schedule, since most of my schools have 2 or even 3 day interview visits. eep

i know! I'm not sure if it's acceptable to wear a suit 4 times without washing it but I really don't want to buy another one haha. I'm going with my mom next week to get plenty of pantyhose and shirts to go under the suit though so hopefully that'll be good enough.

I don't want to have to get two either. ugh. Might I suggest express dry clean service after the second one? wait that's a friday night, joke. Anyway, keep that option in mind. Or be super careful and always take off the jacket while eating. Or keep spot cleaners at hand. Why am I so neurotic right now? I don't even own a spot cleaner :laugh:

I know for men's suits we aren't supposed to dry clean them very often, because it starts to break down the fabric and make the suit look worn. I think my last suit guy told me to try to go 5 wears. So, if women's suits are anything like men's then 4 shouldn't be a problem.

I have 5 suits -- I've got a good pattern going, where I wear each one 3-5x and then dry clean them -- after more than a year of that, theyre starting to look ratty.

A way to get them to last longer between dry cleans is to bring a linen-ish dishrag with you on the interview trail. You can actually iron suits if you put a layer inbetween the suit and the iron. So, while it might not be "clean", it'll still look crisp.

had to buy suit #6 last week because my suits look like ish 🙁. btw--banana republic has drastically changed their suit jacket design this year when compared to past seasons...can't say I'm a fan

Is it wrong that I really don't give a crap about this mock interview and am mainly using the resource because it exists? I just want to totally wing it for this and see what they say, then think about it for a day or two when the real thing comes. Is that a bad strategy?

I'm gonna prepare for it a bit, I guess it all depends on how comfortable someone is with interviews. Me, I don't really know, haven't really had a major interview like this

I know where are with that. The biggest interview I've ever had was for some crappy job that tries to make a formality out of interviewing you, when they know you're already hired.
I would like to think I interview well, though. If you can answer questions firmly, not get nervous and stutter, and be your conversational self I think you'll be fine. That's my feelings, anyway - but what do I know since I haven't interviewed anywhere yet? :laugh:
