ha..yeah I am an MS-I...and I'll be honest I hate that we have class till 5pm on most monday's...especially on exam days like today 😡

Here's my typical weekly schedule:
M: Class 9 - 5...normally lectures from 9-3 and then a clinical correlate (which is really awesome, usually) from 3-5

Tuesday: Core lecture 9 - 12...this is also an elective class day so our schedules vary...I am taking medical spanish right now...so I'll be done at 1:30

Wednesday: core lecture 9 - 3pm

Thursday: Social and Behavioral Sciences lecture/seminar/small group from 8 - 12pm.....Elective class day as well....I have med span from 1:30 -3pm

Friday: usually 9 - 3

Next year's curriculum is going to be vastly different...I am not sure, but I would not be surprised if they move to, in a sense, emulate the curriculums at UCLA and UCSF...i.e. less class time

We are in our 4th week of class and fewer and fewer people are showing up for lecture. By small block (the 2 weeks after thanksgiving) very few of us will be in attendance

A new Med Education building will be built soon as well

No classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays FTW! Although I do research all day on these days starting at noon til whenever. I am not a morning person so I would rather work later into the day than in the morning. Getting ready to go in now...

dreading that class started this week for me🙁...and dreading reading novels...this is the 1st eng class ive taken in about 4 years, i dont even know how to write a normal paper anymore haha...i hate reading boring novels and analyzing their philosophical value...-_-. Luckily im taking teh class pass fail so i can just half ass everything:meanie:

Finally got home about 3 hours ago, though I missed all of my classes for today. Still waiting for my cell phone (which I left) to be shipped to me since there were a LOT of mix ups w/ FedEx over the weekend. And I'm hoping that spending the rest of today studying will help me ace my Psychopharm exam tomorrow. We'll see!
 
Just got a job offer. I'll be a lab tech. Looks like I won't be poor for the year leading up to med school!

Hahah tell me about it. Although I'm an RA so I am so incredibly sick of dining hall food. Every once in awhile I splurge on some BHOP.. haha.

vandy and morehouse were great. vandy is goooorrrgeous. atlanta is fuuuuun.
 
Anyone else REALLY getting tired and just a little grumpy about the dumbest little things?

I mean I'm normally a very laid back kind of guy, but the smallest things have just made me a little (or a lot) snappy lately.

Yeah. Maybe I just need a vacation?

Anyone else just tired of travel/work/more work/more travel?

I want to call EVMS to see if they have a decision for me, but I big part of my wants to just wait till 10/15 when all the schools are allowed to accept students. I'm torn. What if I call and I'm waitlisted? What if I call and they accepted me. It's not official until 10/15 anyway, so I'd probably still think about a bunch of what ifs until I saw the official letter.

Ugghh, I'm being such a pre-med right now. I need to go ride my bike. Luckily working hours are over, so I won't be tempted to call.

So today at LSU, I got my ticket from the parking garage and walked to the office. Somewhere along the way fiddling with directions, I lost my parking ticket. The office couldn't validate my parking without a ticket, so I went to get another one - which was impossible. Later, someone comes in and gives me a prevalidated one so I don't have to pay. On my way out, I do something or the other wrong and end up putting the validated ticket in the wrong slot or something. So I'm without a paid exit ticket and have to pay the $10 anyway. 😡 😡 😡

LSU-NO was a lot cooler than I thought. Their clinical simulation lab is basically the best in the country and everything else is really new. Only downside to me is that it just seemed so familiar with all the current students I already knew from LSU. I think I just want a change - great school, though.
 
just cleaned out my work inbox so it now only has 4 messages in it. ahhhhh.

heading home for the day now, at last. i strongly dislike spending 10 hours in front of a computer.

Boo paying for parking. 🙁 I agree I was more impressed by LSU-NO than I thought I would be, but I agree. I want a change too. And what was up with that girl tour guide? She just seemed so miserable giving us a tour.

Speaking of parking, I'm going to SUNY Upstate tomorrow. Someone explain these parking rates to me:

Rochester: $6, but free with validation
Brooklyn: $10, private covered parking...not too bad
Syracuse: $14, you pay for a lot space😕

Really? Didn't know the Syracuse area had such a lack of space 🙄

Oh well. Should be a fun day though!

I was about to say that! She did seem so miserable and unhappy. The guys were great and make jokes and laughed, but she was just blah. Why sign up if you don't like it?

i had a layover in atlanta...the airport there is no joke. their trash cans do something crazy when you throw trash in them, like they process the trash or something...i liked it for sure.

PS, you people have been going ape **** with interviews lately!...i leave for a week and a half, come back, and dw has harvard (super congrats!), jammer has about 2349782 interviews (also congrats!), ksmi is ksmi (congrats!), and everyone else is dominating. You guys are good.

ha I remeber the first time I had a lay over in ATL and I dropped something in one of those thrash cans....I jumped back and nearly knocked an old lady over :laugh:😱
