Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So how does "I have decided to withdraw my application from consideration. xxxx is my AMCAS number. Thanks for your time" sound?

I don't think I need to say anything else.

Short and sweet. No need to give any reasons.

Say "I hereby withdraw..." Straight to the point.

Basically what mine said. No reason to spend a lot of time on it.

One vote here for SF, LA, or SD. 👍

I was personally thinking NOLA, but I'm pretty flexible. If people want to do this, I'll make it happen. 🙂

im so tired.

anyone planning any big vacations before med school?

Hell yes!

Planning several. I would like to go to Paris right before XMAS; now I am not worried about missing any interviews in the gap between Thanksgiving and XMAS anymore.

And then do an Asian thing in the Spring...also looking at a school alumni trip to India...or Greece and Turkey.

Because once we enter that tunnel called "med school and beyond," I have a difficult time seeing many such trips for the next 10+ years...

yea you need to do greece turkey and then india

i've been to istanbul and goa and they are pretty cool. i still wanna go to greece and then go down to egypt

have you been to paris before flip? if so, im curious to hear your opinion about it.

Japan/China would be awesome

I would like to go to land of my people, Belize.

Northern Cali for wine country, and maybe a trip to Europe. Would prefer to do Italy OR Greece. Might end up in Amsterdam, though, because my aunt lives outside there and could pay for some of my med school. :xf:

Of course, I wouldn't complain about a return to London or Paris. Loved London.

ive been to tokyo and hong kong, they are kinda like a weirder NYC. there's a sushi bar in Tokyo now that you can eat raw fish off waitresses that seem like they can't afford to buy clothes, which is a great way to experience differences in wealth 🙂

Overrated. Do it if you're here anyway, don't come here just for that.

dont they have ikeas and sick night life?

you know the night life was ok. i only spent 2 days in denmark, then i went to sweden...to be honest with you both were fairly underwhelming.

amsterdam, on the other hand, was insanely fun.

More of I absolutely loved JHU and JHU gives 0 merit scholarships, and there's no way I'm getting need-based aid.

With schools like JHU, you shouldn't have any problem paying back debt, so they're probably just worrying about nothing.

i hope me JJ dingy and Bry all get into and go to CCLCM. we can save money and get drunk everyday of med school! and still not fail!

Yea, that'd be friggin awesome!

im def going to vegas sometime soon...

Vegas is a good choice, actually, since it's kind of in the middle of the country. NOLA is a good choice too for the same reason.

I have been to Paris twice. Love it.

The food in the bistros is to die for. The museums are the best in Europe.

But mostly, it is a really cool place to hangout.

PM me if you want details, but I know Paris fairly well. Paris is tons of fun in the weeks leading up to Christmas - very festive, street vendors selling oysters on the half shell, fun bar and cafe scene...

i was a fan of the movie Hostel and Hostel 2 and i want to experience something like that. i think you have to go to like armenia or the slavic nations

Greece was like the Caribbean on steroids. Corfu was gorgeous.

I definitely would love to go to Turkey (one of my best friends is Turkish) and always wanted to go to Egypt. I'm jealous you went to Japan also.. would love to travel there.

i wasnt a fan of london at all, had some bad experiences there. probably just a weird time but i have an uncle that has an empty house there

but i think the easiest would be NYC because of the amount of things to do and the ease of transportation

you know, the impression that i get is that it really matters WHEN you go to paris. ive been there twice myself, once over summer on a europe trip, and once in winter to visit my sister who was studying abroad there, and i have to say the winter trip was much more enjoyable.

the parisians are really impatient during the touristy months, even when you try to speak french with them.

but i do agree, one of the bistros i ate at was incredible. and our table had a big wheel of cheese as the centerpiece! very french.

I would not at all be opposed to NYC. Sounds great.

That's why I want an NYU interview, because I've never been. I'm hoping that I do get one and that it's around my winter break.

hey all,

Congrats on the continued acceptances! Way to represent the 4.0/40 females Ksmi! 😛

Went to VT. That school is going to be amazing. They based their model off of an interesting combination of schools with appropriate tweeks. It will be one of the best soon enough.

Anyhow, hope everyone gets more/some good news this week!

I just drove 10 hours and am tired. To bed with me...

:luck:

Oh, I guess I missed the meeting part 😕

If you all like snow, I've got a great place in Western NY right now...

France it is. 👍
