Hey guys,

interesting CDC interview about H1N1 on CBS right now...
 
There's a researcher saying that H1N1 seems to be a relative of the 1918 flu...

Scary stuff, but very interesting.

the parisians are really impatient during the touristy months, even when you try to speak french with them.

but i do agree, one of the bistros i ate at was incredible. and our table had a big wheel of cheese as the centerpiece! very french.

Fall and early winter trips to Paris rule.

Just too crowded in summer. I did the 'summer in Europe' thing a few years ago, and it wore me out - enjoyed it, but don't plan to go back in the summer again.

Another really great city is Berlin. And it is super fun in December - they have XMAS festivals all over the city - open air markets where you can eat brats and pastries, drink beer and wine - oompah band music - what a blast.

Went to VT. That school is going to be amazing. They based their model off of an interesting combination of schools with appropriate tweeks. It will be one of the best soon enough.

glad you liked it!! maybe i should have sent the secondary in, oh well. i think i'd like to be in a different area than southwest virginia though since i've been there the past 4 years and want to experience something new, so it'll probably work out for the best.

that sounds awesome. i have a friend who is always raving about berlin also. must be something to it.

But, there is a really cool potential cancer treatment on the same show right now. Looks VERY promising...

I have absolutely no desire to go to Europe (or anywhere else out of the country). Is that weird?

huh, that's interesting but not really weird.


i want to go EVERYWHERE! haha. i wish i had time to visit every country and just travel around for years.

Someone from Mt. Sinai said this at a conference I went to in April. Was an incredibly interesting talk. It is no where near as lethal as the 1918 strain, however.

YES! we'll all just take out a loan in the amount we'd have taken out for medical school anyways, then spend 4 years traveling the globe🙂

Drove by a veternarian office today... they're offering H1N1 vaccines for dogs now... No evidence yet that dogs can even get H1N1. Interesting?

Actually, not in Vegas or Reno(or the counties containing them). You'd have to venture outside the city to find them.

Truth, it's really not. I only spent a modest amount gambling there last time.
