Just be sure of what you're doing and minimize your regrets.

I think that pretty much sums it up and is what everyone should think about. Unfortunately, thinking is pretty hard to do for most people.

 Watching True Life: I'm addicted to video games.
It's pretty funny.

Yeah, I see what you're saying, but some people use engagement as a trial period, like they move in together and kind of act like a married couple without actually being married. Certain qualities come out that you were not aware of before and this takes time.

And sometimes it's a spur-of-the-moment yes. I guess in general, I'm thinking more of the girls, mostly, that say "I need to get married by the time I'm 25. OR ELSE." It's like when women feel like they should be having babies because all of their friends have kids.

oh dear god do i hate that....

I'm really unsure about the moving in together thing. For one, my parents would throw a hissy fit if I lived with a guy without being married, but I can see the good from it. Oh well, not necessary to think about now.

I never understood that mentality... how do you know if you want to live with someone for the rest of your life if you have never lived with them? Seems like a pretty big leap of faith.

Polygamy just sounds like a really bad idea.

I couldn't handle more than one. I just couldn't.

Polygamy ftl (but for the Darwinian win)

Winter biathlon is kind of awesome. Kinda upset I have to miss the end... Lunch break basically over

Seriously.

just so you guys know....if you do not see me for this entire week...I am not dead, just trying to herd 66 people into being awesome pledges.

👍

BTW, what is ice dancing? 😕

Boring.

It's basically ballroom + figure skating.

would it ever make sense tax-wise to get married? i am pretty sure there are some income situations where it is advantageous to file together

I think in some cases. But don't ask what they are.

For tax brackets being married actually ****s you over. More advantages lie in benifits, but now it's becoming more popular to offer them to "domestic partners" as well.
not at all true. It depends on how much you make. each year for me and my wife filing together gives us an extra 2k or so. if you both make 100k+ then yes it hurts more then helps. but if you are in the lower tax brackets its not bad.

It's actually income discrepency that it hinges on (for federal taxes anyway). Which for some people where one has a normal job and another has a high paying job works out well. In a huge portion of cases it's a stay at home parent, where they are sacrificing a larger income for a smaller tax benifit. Which taking opportunity cost into account isn't an advantage.

Alright I'm gonna study for like an hour and then turn it back on.

I have my notes open right now, but it's not really working. I've only memorized 2 enzymes.

hmm, I don't like missing hockey but I don't want leave home to watch it.

It really sucks that this game isn't on NBC. I don't get it.

I use my iphone too much. I just wrote an email to someone and hit the spacebar twice when I wanted a period.

there is really no good medical school scholarships out there, they are all either for 3rd years or you gotta take a year to do research at blah blah institution! is there a good website specific for starting med students?!!

I dont have a site but i got a good book on it that I was given by one of the schools i interviewed at. Basically unless you are a URM, or something like that. There isnt a lot ot apply for tahts specific to med school (at least in that book or what i found). A lot are like if you are "the 3rd cousin twice removed of parents who originated in cambodia but moved to the US before 1985 and you have a sister of a mexican immigrant who also happens to be married to someone from Laos." THEN you can have money .

seriously though if you wanted some things from the book i can just scan or it just give you the website or other thigns on aim. btw did you interview at Ucsf mdog?😛
