lstone-from what i recall you have a really good gpa. i honestly think it'd be a waste of time and $$. if anything, maybe just try and get some more medical and work experience in. i really think you'll just get in if you apply earlier though. also, the cycle's not over yet!

ksmi-that's sad🙁 rip. it's probably almost better for him that he died if he was trying to commit suicide, rather than having to deal with all the pain of recovering (physically and emotionally)/scrutiny from the entire lsu community since it was so public. so sad that people feel the need to turn to suicide though.

if your gpa is in the <3.4 range and everything else is on order (meaning proper ecs, shadowing, 30+ mcat, etc etc...Id do an smp. Smp are really only for those whose GPA is the only red flag on the app. If the gpa is getting closer to the 3.6+ range, i dont think its a good investment as there would be easier cheaper ways at fixing your app. They are very expensive like 40k or so and theres really no aid for them. So you are paying one extra year of med school basically.

Well, it's just part of my application that I would want to improve. And, I've thought about just enrolling for classes at my university since I already graduated. I'm just looking at all the options right now and didn't really know too much about SMP's yet.

I wish I had already been accepted somewhere, but alas, I have not. I know that the biggest thing that hurt my application this year was timing, but regardless, if I have to re-apply, I'm going to do my best to address everything that could have hurt my application this year.

You could do a regular post-bacc instead of a SMP to get some upper level science courses. The only one I really looked into at all was harvard extension school, but that may be an option

Grats on harvard guys🙂. Glad someone got good news I found ou I'm waitlisted at ucla🙁. I knw someone with my sad Mcat score and average credentials had no chance at any top school but the interview got my hopes up I guess I have to move my family far now🙁. So bummed right now

My boss just sent an e-mail requiring I come in at 9:30 on Weds. to get training on how to use a new fluorimeter..... I get done at 3:30 on tuesday with my last final and I hope to drink until the fluorimeter demo...

Thanks! My fiancee and I are both in at multiple common schools, so we'll definitely be attending the same place next year, so I can't complain even if financial aid doesn't work out at our top choice. I will find out in t minus 10 days.
