Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I've edited like 30+ PSes and they really are all the same. Cheesy cliche. Family member with illness. Doctors are compassionate. Research/volunteering/school work made me love medicine more. More cliches. The end.

I feel so bad for the people who read mine. So generic.

Haha, sounds like mine!

I'm quite glad that I didn't use any family members with illness or start out with "I was on a dark field, about to do ____________, when I thought back to why I want to be a doctor..."

Rah, the last PS I read was about curing the world of illness (literally). Did you know that poverty will be cured if this girl becomes a doctor and fixes people? It's after PSes like this that I'm glad I stuck to my cookie cutter PS. This just did not work.

I didn't use those two. I'm guessing I'd be sitting a pile of full-ride scholarships if I had included them

Are these SDN PSes? I'm not sure I'd be comfortable sharing my PS with a complete stranger on the internetz :-/

:smack: I focused on making an impact on an individual level, as opposed to, say, curing the world of illness.

Mdog, you work at a hospital right? What you can do is to find a cadaver, cut off a finger and take it. Then you write to the med school saying that you'll prove your undying allegiance to them by cutting off one of your fingers, and attach that finger with it. If that doesn't move them, nothing will.

part of me is tempted to send my PS to a current reader under the guise of being a '15 cycle applicant just to see how well/poorly my PS is received and torn apart

I think NC would be a nice place to live. I'm kind of sick of 8 months of winter

Looks like I'll fit in in St. Louis. I call it soda (at least I think I do).

You betray your homeland.

I've seen this one, and pop totally wins. 👍

EDIT: just checked the data again and soda has made a comeback 😱

That's a good idea.
