Class of 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also, JJ and Brooklyn: check the business section of your school's library apparently some schools have subscriptions to morningstar and other stock things.

Today should be interesting trying to get enough protein.

Just made an egg white omelet. I need work on my omelet folding skills. But it was yummy. 🙂

Omelet folding skills improve with time. I was horrible at folding the beginning of the semester and now I can make any shape I want.

🙁 Sorry met. Did they just give everyone who hadn't been accepted yet a waitlist?

That's what it looks like on the thread - it went in alphabetical order over the course of like 9 hours so some people were thinking they got rejected.

i can't imagine having protein as half of every meal on average. toooo much meat
whey protein is where its at. lean body (protien drink, lactose/milk free) is also good, good stuff.

don't be confused though....a lot of those recommendations are for people trying to build serious muscle, not for those who are trying to tone up.

You're good to go Met.

Also, I've now concluded that Law School Sucks is my fantasy bball rival, purely because of the asinine trades

+1. a protein shake every morning & after workouts helped me shed off ~30lbs one summer

or even from a "feel good" standpoint, if you take whey post-workout, you will NOT feel as sore the next day. 👍

i've never had a whey protein shake. is it nasty?

i thought it would be gross, it's actually pretty tasty.. i used designer whey strawberry flavored whey with a banana in milk, and it's a good smoothie

that sounds good (and really heavy)

👍

...or the 1 gram per 1 lb. of bodyweight rule. Whey protein FTW.

I like whey protein shakes.

Same thing for me. Too bad that was 4 summers ago.

i've never had a whey protein shake. is it nasty?

I don't think so. I like the chocolate and I make mine with milk so they taste a hell of a lot better.

I love how we're talking about protein and stuff, yet I am just finishing off my 3rd donut. 😳

When I move back home after graduation, I will have absolutely nothing to do so I will go crazy with cardio.

pretty much yea... it is nasty. It's not the taste as much as the texture of it that feels odd.

Depends on the type and flavor that you get. They taste better after getting used to them. I still look forward to them

It's definitely an acquired taste. I look forward to the chocolate flavored ones, because those taste pretty decent 👍

sounds kinda gross.
whey protein shakes = MUCH better tasting in milk (Esp. when the flavor is chocolate), but more effective in water (faster absorption, which is what you're paying for when you buy whey protein)

Also, by a "blender ball", cheap on amazon and totally worth it. 👍

Blender Ball

One good thing about protein shakes for breakfast is that you never have to think about what to make. 👍

I've regressed a lot since 4 summers ago. Gained all of it back. 👎
whey protein plus oats is my ultimate breakfast of champions. Complex carbs + fast protein very little fats and sugars = awesome pre-workout

You DEFINITELY need a good blender type thing to make a whey shake's texture decent. I just use my parents' blender, which is why my shakes suck when I'm not there and it eventually leads to me not drinking them anymore.

Trust me, this blender ball thing has changed my life, lol mixes a ton of protein VERY easily with no lumps. The only thing it has trouble mixing are BCAAs, but those are ridiculously hard to mix anyways because they're hydrophobic. /nerd

i like the magic bullet
+1. mine instantly purees everything.

I use EAS chocolate in water or I have a banana lean body. Agree with Sen about the texture....thats why premixed (ie lean body) is better.

 why does protein come in such ridiculously large quantities

its meat head size.

it goes fast if you have 2-3 shakes a day. sometimes i do two a days so I drink 3-4.

Because it's cheaper that way. If you just get the 1 lb bag, it's like $15 but the 5 lb bucket is like $40 or something.
....and this.

lol, in my tiny town, I get it at the tanning salon. :meanie:

 why does protein come in such ridiculously large quantities
because it's easy to go through it quickly:

On workout days:

half scoop with oatmeal for breakfast (pre-workout)
2 scoops on lifting days (1 scoop after cardio) (post-workout)

x3 lifting days x2 for cardio days

7.5 scoops + 3 scoops = 10.5 scoops/servings per week.

I mix mine with water/ice though. i always need to drink more water. plus milk is nasty. lean body, ksmi.

At least it's not a ripoff like UIC lol

Oh and I've gone mobile!!

True.

I had a feeling you would come in and say that.
70,000 CoA in M3 for residents is absurd! And we're told to expect annual 10% increases in tuition.
