They're down a bit overseas. The whole day for them probably hinges on their "top kill" effectiveness.

yea, the good thing is that they are predicting that BP won't take a big of a hit to lower dividends, so if we hold the stock we should be able to curb any loss or maximize any growth with around a 8% div yield

Yeah, my assessment has been the dividend is safe. I'm probably going to hold them for awhile to get more dividends, unless it gets really overvalued.

No, it's about 10-15 minutes away. I might be able to take the streetcar but that would take way too long.

I wouldn't want to walk to campus with the area the school is located in.

Kind of. To one side is pretty sketchy, but a couple blocks to the other side and it's right outside the Superdome and one of NOLA's main downtown streets. That part is safe, but the immediate area around the school probably isn't.

That was one of my problems with looking for a place - areas go from good to bad very quickly and seemingly from block to block.

Yea I have an older version than that. I'm surprised and shocked they don't offer i5's (i7's on a laptop are overkill). The core 2 Duo's are actually not that slow. Don't expect to play half life 2 or anything on it (that's why you build yourself an awesome d-top ). But for normal (i.e. non gaming) tasks, a core 2 Duo's more than enough.

I'm really annoyed they don't have an i5 though 🙁 That makes me a sad panda

you know, people complain about how expensive macs are, but i paid almost exactly that price for my macbook pro. it does have less hard drive space, but more ram and a faster processor.

don't compare against tablet PCs. Tablets are generally more expensive than non tablet counterparts 🙂

yeah, i've had my ipod touch for one day and it makes me want an iphone that much more.

True. I wouldn't really have that luxury since my city is a bit spread out. I'm also opposed to carrying things with me, so the iphone does the job of both but I would only have to carry one thing. That phone couldn't fit in my pocket very well and that bothers me. I would have to rearrange my pocket setup.

I'm feeling the peer pressure to get an iphone. Maybe I'll just get a regular new phone for free and then get the iphone or equivalent when I start 3rd year.

I just have a feeling that an iphone could be quite useful in med school. But the usefulness to distraction ratio is important.

Well, not sure. I mean, I can find 1 BR/1 BA apartments that are decently priced online, but I want to go check out the area for safety and whatnot first. Also, it's kinda nice because I will most likely be living with my boyfriend next year, and if that happens, we will be able to split the cost of rent.

You know what phone looks super awesome right now...? The HTC Incredible (I think that's what it is called). I know someone who has one of those bad boys, and to me, they are just as good as if not better than the iPhone.
