Haha well, you missed the show anyway, so I'll go ahead and tell you what I gathered from it. The company was called Biomedical Tissue Services, and they would harvest bones and tissues from cadavers at funeral homes and would sell them for transplants. However, they did so without the consent of the families, which apparently, they didn't have to legally. They would charge a "recovery fee" to the funeral homes for permission to harvest the body parts. Anyway, the real reason why it went to court at all was because this company did not screen the cadavers before selling the parts for transplant, so for example, they would harvest bones from a person who died from bone cancer and sell them for bone or cartilage transplants. People would get the transplants and would die or get very sick because diseases would also be transplanted. Anyway, it was all very interesting, and the people who owned and operated the company ended up going to prison for what they did. I think I remember a Law and Order episode was based on this...
