Class of 2015... How ya doing?

And now to chip away at this take home exam.

ETA: Done! I'll pass it in tomorrow and then I just have Clinical Orientation practical/written combination exam on Wednesday afternoon. Physical exams and a bit of advanced examination techniques on well, everything. Dogs, cats, small ruminants, cows, neonates, pigs, horses, lab animals, birds... I'll be fine with the written stuff but I get so nervous for the demonstration/oral parts when I have to perform tasks in front of my professors.

Finished! 😀 Clinical orientation practical/written was pretty good and now I'm free! Going out for sushi tonight and hitting the road tomorrow to head back home to Nova Scotia.

At least 5 left to go. I think. One tomorrow, four next week. Plus a handful of odds 'n ends assignments. Some preceptor time to make up in clinic. A few night shifts in the hospital over break for extra cash (ok, those are totally my fault).....

At the rate I'm going I'll finish right around the time Christmas break ends.
 
Oh geez, LIS, that sucks!

Path final today at 1, pharm tomorrow at 8, and then freedom. This has been one heck of a finals week. The first years here have had it worse though: five finals in two days or something ridiculous like that.

I am panicking. I've studied for this exam a lot, but I don't feel like I'm retaining the information. I had to take a benzo last night to sleep and I haven't had to do that in months. I've been doing well this semester, not at risk of failing anything, not even in the C range for anything. This class is my favorite and I love the teacher and I feel like if I don't do well I'm disappointing her.

Then I have a radiology oral which is just as terrifying as it sounds. 5 minutes to answer questions about 7 cases. Not even a minute per case? dumb.

I'm going to need a beer tonight. But just one because then I have to start studying for my other 3 finals
 
I'm done! The rest of my class still has a final to take this afternoon but I took it earlyfor some drs appts. I'm holding back my gloating as I'm watching all of them cram on facebook last night while I sat around and watched "How I Met your Mother" ha! Now for three weeks to start figuring out what's wrong with this ridiculous head of mine!!
 
Pharm is finally over for us too. I can't wait to see my husband for more than 10 minutes a day and not wake up with my mouth hurting from clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth.

Yeah. Pharm sucks. I got 40% or so on the final for the first pharm class I took. Fortunately, point distro being what it was I only needed about 14%.

Our neuropharm course was the awesome one that had exactly one exam for the entire class, so your whole grade was the final. No stress there, nope, none at all.

I don't think I ever even looked at my grade for our antimicrobials/antifungals/anthelmintics/chemotherapeutic pharm class. At that point I just kinda wanted to not care.

Bleh.

Test tomorrow. Haven't even made it through the material once yet. My hand hurts from writing so much over the last 2 days. Finals are my least favorite. Especially in classes where it's your only grade...eff
 
I officially have an externship lined up for this coming summer, with dates and everything! So so so excited to work in a multi-doctor clinic with specialties I haven't seen before!

Ours is radiology cumulative. I give zero effs at this point. Gonna take the exam, get my hair done, then drink with my classmates! Yay!!!
 
Bad enough classes start today, but first lecture doesn't even spend 1 minute orienting us to a new course. Just start lecturing on the minutia from the get go.

We don't start classes until Monday, but in the meantime I am helping with OOS interviews. Should be a blast. And free lunch... Well, I can't say no to that.

And of course it had to be two hours of thoracic radiography (which I don't get even when my brain is working). Happy New Year to us. 😡

hated that class. with a passion.

pretty much everything i learned in that class was a cram, purge, and forget. but one thing I will always remember is that you ultrasound preg check mares on day 14 so that if there are twins with one in each horn, you pop and squish one between your fingers. gross.
 
i still have 2.5 weeks left of break 😀 but we don't get a spring break, so 5.5 week winter break is fair? (also no fall or thanksgiving break)
 
I get a stomach ache and an impending sense of doom when I think about going back to class on Monday. Where did my positive attitude go and how do I get it back?? Last semester really did me in. Horse stress/School stress/Health stress. I'm praying that I'll be back in the happy camper mode soon. Feel like Charlie Brown!

Yeah that sucked. I feel like I should look it over because I remember none of it but I really don't want to. I'm a weird mix of tired, bored, cranky, and lazy right now. And we have class from 9-6 tomorrow. 😱
Couldn't they have just started us on Monday the 7th??

and I have morning wards at 6:30am tomorrow.

Grumble grumble.

And my 2nd morning wards is the monday morning after spring break (when I specifically asked NOT to have any shifts). grumble grumble.
 
Having to get to the hospital at 6:30 am, 2nd day after break is just unfair beyond belief. My tiredness has reached mid semester levels already. 😡

Ok.. re-reading that, it sounds REALLY whining. Grow some balls SOV! :meanie:

Ok... now I sound insane, having a conversation with myself on the internet. This is not going well.
