Class of 2015!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
coffee and a tiny bit of milk, no sugar, maybe half and half occasionally

remember, pregnant women should avoid cinnamon..

Apparently consuming a good amount of cinnamon has been shown to increase the incidence of miscarriage. Obviously, a few sprinkles here and there won't do anything, but only in sizable portions. Apparently it stimulates uterine contractions very early in the pregnancy. So claims my biology professor.

I don't doubt it's true, but I'm trying to find a reputable article on this.

I have NEVER EVER heard of this. I'd think you'd have to consume a massive amount of it to do anything. And when you're in the first trimester, I doubt you'd want anything as strong tasting as spoonfuls of cinnamon in your mouth. :barf:

ew even i want to puke at the thought of a spoonful of cinnamon.

maybe i'm preggo?

And if it stimulates contractions, I never heard it mentioned as a way to maybe kickstart things once being full-term either. I am confused!

well, so far i can't find a single journal mentioning this whatsoever. sure, there are random sites online, but this may just be one of those old wives tales.

edit: just saw that article you posted, yeah, i have no idea

 are you being serious right now? because that could have saved me ALOT of money in the past...
You know what I wish I could post a picture of here, right?

And yeah, I'm totally serious! They work really well. They're pink dye, so less likely to have evaporation lines than the blue dye tests, and they're very sensitive, too. And only $1 compared to the $20 you can spend on getting an EPT double pack.

they were giving out condoms and tampons in little wristlets at school today with instructions for use...they were very dollarstore esque

Dollar store condoms are probably a scheme to get more people to buy dollar store pregnancy tests. And dollar store tampons? Do they sell underwear? Because it's probably a scheme to sell more of those.

also, i understand none of the technicalities, you had me at $1 😀

My gf buying me a 90 minute massage + pho beef for lunch = happy rHinO

now if I didn't have class today or a midterm tomorrow life would be even more awesome

its all part of their evil plan to conquer the world i tell ya!

step one, sell cheap tampons

step three, conquer the whole world

After 3 minutes or so the test results aren't really valid, but sometimes the tests with blue dye leave this light evaporation/ghost line that looks like a positive test. It plays with your miiiiiiiind!

And more sensitive in just that they pick up smaller concentrations of HCG. But yes! $1 tests FTW!

Now I want to see an Alot of money.

Just curious, how many of you have done the "recommended" classes or classes that may help in med school such as: biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, bacteriology, virology, etc. . .

I know many people say that they won't help much. I'm just curious. I've done the first 6 b/c they are part of my major. I am avoiding microbiology b/c I think it will be boring and I don't want to do it twice (undergrad & med school).

come on haters, try some cinnamon in your coffee. you'll thank me.

and bleargh, you should know that its up to her to get the pregnancy tests. at least split them anyway.

i've got genetics, A&P, biomechanics, and exercise physiology

I think birth control should be split as well. They can get expensive. It sucks when you're thinking "new skirt or the pill?"

i'd def be willing to split the bill if she's willing to take the pill 👍

insurance or planned parenthood keeps the price pretty reasonable though. it'd be worth it to split it if it meant no rain jackets though.

Birth control should be split but guys usually end up paying for the condoms which can get expensive too.

Yea, it's not a problem here because my school has a ton of groups that pass out free condoms.

i thought that's common, students can pick up free condoms at my school's infirmary any time they want. heck, you don't even have to be a student lol

Wal-Mart. That is pretty much the only reason I'll make a trip to Wal-Mart. They're almost half off compared to any where else.

Haha, my bf buys them, but I've been thinking about picking up a prescription instead.

My thesis reading is tomorrow 😱 Nervous!

you'll rock it!

I hope so. Good thing is only my mentor grades me, so that a bit of a relief. She wants me to go to a reading tomorrow at 10 AM and then spend the next few hours (my reading is at 3) practicing my powerpoint.

ha, i'd sleep til 11. workout, eat lunch, read through once, and then showtime.

I seriously don't think I'll ever take the pill again. I'm scared to death of PE's and I didn't like how it made me feel. After I stopped taking it I'd realized what a difference it made. 👎
