My regular shift ended at 9:30, so now I'm working because I'm on call. Which is awesome, I get paid 1.5X, get paid even when i'm at home on "stand by." There are only a few other people working on call too so I get to do more (b/c they need me to do more). I only have 1 room to worry about instead of 10, so I have more time to just watch. I really like taking call but it is hard when I have school and homework. I wish I could do it more often.

I wish my volunteer job was little more upbeat. I help transport patients wherever they need to go, like xray, ultrasound, mri, from ER to rooms, and such

If you take a patient to radiology, untrasound, mri etc. . . do you get to hang around and watch until they are done? If so it seems like that would be a good way to get a feel for the hopital and different specialties.

Nah 🙁 Don't get the chance, patients get called in for moving all the time, so gotta keep moving. I do know the entire hospital pretty much, haha! But I did do about 30 hours in public health at an h1n1 clinic

this is what you should spend your application time doing 🙂. Youll be more sane for it (though i know you will like many of us obsessively check sdn during app season lol)

Starting and ending are the toughest parts, IMO. Just brainstorm it out in the beginning, jotting down notes, etc.

I'm having the same problem. I have a large part of the middle written, and now I'm just working on the start and finish so I can make it cohesive. It's harder than I anticipated, but it is going fairly well so far.

Yea, I haven't typed it out yet, but I have already typed out my story/themes (grandfather theme I mentioned earlier in here) but I don't know if I should just be like "My grandfather....." or "When I was in highschool, i got in nhs, grandfather cried, didn't know why then..." kindof start. This is tough!

a new one will be available sometime during or just before the app cycle starts. If i remember right...the 2010-2011 msar didnt come out until june 2009? Anyways regardless the difference between the 2010-2011 msar and the 2011-2012 msar is just about nothing. If you want to use one to pick schools id just go with the 2010 one. Hell buy mine ahha 😛

I have a subscription to US news and world report which has a fair amount of admissions info, so I think I'll probably wait until the new MSAR comes out. Unless I get impatient.

Lady Gaga is crazy, but if my interviewer is too busy staring, maybe he (or she...) will want to accept me in the hopes that I dress like this all the time.

And that outfit... Well, you'll certainly not get a stress interview - they'll probably be way too scared of you to speak, let alone reject you. I think you should try it out and report back to us.

Yea, it is 🙁. All of them (around 10-15) had their kids in High school or right after, and one of my old best friends there is pregnant now (age is 20) an her younger sister got jealous of the attention she was getting and got pregnant too.
