Yeah, this job has been hell. It is one of those jobs I'm doing because the person who hired me is afraid of the legal jargon (what else is new) and she is majorly stressing out over every little thing. We are cleaning up someone else's mess and she needs to get a grip and realize that with all of the missing information, there is really only so much we (I) can do, but she is flipping out anyway.

Hopefully I can finish it up early Monday afternoon and be done with it!

On a happy note....I am done with Columbia (my reader is looking it over now) and finished with 1 of Michigan's essays. I think I will write the second one in the AM🙂

BTW, I officially have my first wasted primary money... Ohio State has new prerequisites for its 2011 incoming class -- 1 sem of both biochem AND anatomy. I freaking hate all these schools that are pretty much saying "biology and biochem majors only, please." US ENGINEERS CAN'T FULFILL ALL OF YOUR SILLY WHIMS!! (my own state school almost made that exact same switch, too, but then suddenly unswitched, which made me re-unable to take the courses I was originally planning on taking... MF)

Hopefully I get a good deal at a school that doesn't like to jerk around premeds. Baylor? Case? Wash? Colo? Please? =)

I'm doing that for any school that I'm missing 1 course for (english for schools that req 2 sem w/o AP, the couple that take ONLINE biochem, anything that's really going to make me take 1 more credit of bio lab). But I couldn't do anatomy and biochem over a summer. Just not gonna happen. I want to enjoy my life for a couple months before I start med school and I don't think one or both are offered at my uni summer.


It's funny b/c it's totally my fault (obviously duh) for adding ohio state back onto my list.. I took it off when I was consulting the 2011-2012 MSAR and then forgot that biochem is the reason I did that.

them changing their requirements blows. I'm still going to apply b/c I have 1 quarter of biochem, and I took a combined A & P class a long time ago with a lab. Hopefully they will accept those... I already had to take 2 more quarters of physiology after that A & P class, so adding an anatomy class would suck.

I'm already ruining my summer by taking stats and a second english course to appease these picky schools. In fact, I am writing an english essay comparing creation stories from 2 cultures right now 👎

Haha, I'm hoping for low debt too. If all I wanted to do was get in, I'd only have applied to half of the schools I did. I'm really preparing for a season of groveling for money.

It sounds like you should be set for OSU prereq-wise, to me. I don't think they're super picky about exact courses.

That sounds like it could be fun or brainmelting, depending on how interesting the creation stories are and what sort of source you have to use. I'd totally be like "yeah this one culture thought that a bunch of gods slapped some **** together and like stuff happened but this other culture thought that one god pretty much farted the universe into existence, not gonna lie, I like the first one better cuz then we're not crappy."👍

Yep yep... I applied to so many schools for 1. Wanting $$$ and 2. Not having many serious favorites coming into the cycle, so I chose all the places that looked neato to me.

In one of my circles of friends.. many of them being in QSU (I pretty much consider myself an ally member now).. it's pretty normal. Sometimes I laugh because another group of friends (who I honestly don't like as much) call me gay all the time for how I dress and I think "if only you knew..." hahaha. (not gay, but flirt with my gay friends all the time for the hell of it)

The class is introduction to american literature. The readings are interesting but the prof is a d-bag. He assigns 80 pages a week, nightly journal entries on the reading, gives us weekly quizes on the reading, 3 essays and a research paper all in 8 weeks. Plus he is a "this is my classroom, how dare you zip your backpack up with 1 minute left in a 3 hours class," finger waving, long winded, high school teacher, giant tool.

He actually had us pass our quizes to our neighbor to be graded! I haven't done that since 5th grade!!

His BS busy work ruins the interesting part of the class for me.

As far as our health care goes, i think the system is quite good. No1 has to worry about not being able to pay the doctor. I think thats an important ideal. of course their is a price to pay, in that it takes longer to see the doctor and sometimes ppl just leave cuz they dont want to wait but that doesnt happen as often as u might think, but atleast everyone has the option of seeing the doctor to get checked which will probably save $$ in the long run

Very cool. Do you feel like if you had a serious illness, there would be the chance that you might have to wait too long or get denied coverage? That's the one scary thing I've heard about it, but I'm not sure if that's a true/legitimate fear. Otherwise, sounds neat... In fact, and this is a segway, it had me thinking about how Americans act. Americans, in general, are a super entitlement-oriented group. People want things and they want them for cheap or free. Obviously this is impossible. But when people pay taxes and then get those tax things "for free" (for paying taxes), they don't mind as much. I think that's why we may head to a more "socialist" side of government eventually (I'm not a huge fan, but it's pretty obvious IMO). I use lots of parenthetical statements...
