Trust me I'm not that awesome, but it was a nice phone call to get. He was the coolest dean i've met. Really sells his school well and gets me all pumped up for med school.

Yea, I jailbroke mine when I got it and have been using MyWi for the past ~7 months. Saves a TON of money since I don't have to pay for internet. If you go with the AT&T tethering plan (not sure if Verizon has it too), I think you pay $20 a month or something, which sucks. I don't think you have to jailbreak your phone for the AT&T plan.

MyWi requires jailbreaking and was basically a one-time payment (it was really cheap...less than $20. Not sure if it's the same price these days though).

And the difference between cable/DSL internet and surfing the web via 3G is only slightly noticeable, IMO.

Haha, while we're sharing childhood stories. I had a "boy who cried wolf" complex when I was a kid. Several times I would run downstairs to where my mom was doing stuff and scream "MOMMY THERE'S A FIRE THERE'S A FIRE" and she would freak out hardcore and then I would laugh because there was no fire. Also, you know those small pink mini M&Ms, that look exactly like Advil pills? I enjoyed collecting them, then going up to my mom and saying "hey mom look at all the advil!" and then swallowing them and looking up to see her face reaction. What the hell was wrong with me.

O.O. I have this sudden crippling fear of a house fire and if Chicklet had pulled that she would rue the freakin' day.

I had a truly awesome time at Temple Second Look! I met a few people from SDN and I apparently may have a future in laparoscopic surgery.
 
I feel y dbeast. I've been traveling for a couple of days sans computer, and going on SDN on my Crackberry is a huge pain. (But still, here I am. Must... keep... checking...)

Also, ditto Geeks! Execpt idk if I was so good at the laparoscopic surgery. But I am know as "that football girl" so I guess that's a plus. 🙂

Sup peeps! How is everyone doing on this fine Saturday? I've been completely useless all day and am damn proud of it! I've been eating up media like its nobody's business. Beat Dragon Age II really fast and loved it. Watching old TV shows on Netflix now 😛. Gotta love laziness.

It's really perplexing to me the way so many people on this forum seem to think every other aspect of your life must go on pause when you start medical school, then pick back up again after you graduate, or worse, after you finish residency.

I mean, I know I'm bats*** crazy, but ALL of this is my life, and putting part of it on hold for another just makes no sense to me.

I think it is b/c real life is scary. Responsibilities, yikes!

I remember telling one of my faculty interviewers, " I really like my life. I would like to attend school here b/c it will allow me to add medical school to it, rather than sacrifice everything to attend.". Status = accepted.

There is certainly nothing better to do in an airport. What's sad (about me) is that I'll choose to rock SDN mobile in far less appropriate situations.

Yesterday I took the effort to meme, using my mobile, whilst titrating. I am not making this up. PS maubs, I'm in wiscahnsin for the weekend. If I had thought ahead I would've arranged buying you a beer.

Except that you're in an airport so nevermind.
 
Howdy peeps. Had a lovely girls night out. Going wine tasting tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about wine tasting but I will pretend it is like bowling or fishing...it isn't really about the bowling or fishing, but about hanging with friends....whilst bowling and fishing.

Haha yeah I have no idea how I got away with that stuff. Thankfully I am a better son now than I was when I was a kid. Filial piety and all that.

Nice, glad to hear the Second Look was good! I wish I was there, then I could have met you in person. Laparoscopic surgery sounds awesome, and as a plus you might one day get to use surgical robots!

Wine tasting is pretty awesome, but perhaps that's because the only times I ever went was with friends who were buying wine (and at least where we were going, if you buy a bottle then the tasting for your group is free). Unlimited high-quality wine, whilst socializing with friends? Sign me up!
 
Who goes wine tasting at noon on a Sunday. I should be SLEEPING at noon on a Sunday.

Maybe eating brunch.

But even that is pushing it.
 
I went through some old mail sittling around my room, and found at least half a dozen rejection letters. While deciding what to do with them, I considered saving them to read at a later date for a good laugh, or perhaps burning them one at a time. Maybe seal them back up and write "return to sender" on them :shrug:. Any other ideas, besides just tossing them in the garbage?
