Today, my computer is showing west coast times for SDN, and I'm in the central time zone. It's never done this before. This peeves me.

I'm with Dbeast...I've been MIA for nearly a week because of moving, so no idea what's going on here! Slash..I need to change my SDN "location"...ugh.

My flight to Madrid is delayed 5 hours. Super bored and sad now 🙁. I get there at 7pm CEST rather than 11am CEST. Basically lose my one of my 3 days there. So I guess night one will be a nightlife day.
 
So I got labs done for our immunization requirements and just got the bill. It gave me a hearty laugh.

Original billed expense: $1,333
Insurance paid: $272
"Insurance discount:" $993
I'm billed: $68

Reminds me strangely of those outlines where one of the steps is ????. This illustrates quite nicely one of the fundamental problems with our insurance system.

Yep, this has always bothered me. It's not insurance, it's collective bargaining, for the most part.

Anyone wanna PM me bleargh's blog? I wanna read it... unless SDN still has blogs and I'm being derp.
 
And with respect to the insurance, it just bothers me that they would actually attempt to bill a patient at a mark-up of AT LEAST 400%. Probably significantly more than that.

I firmly believe that if people had the ability to see how much their healthcare costs, it would help with preventing people from using up all of the care possible.

Keep in mind that people don't hit the clubs til 2 am... and Joy and Pacha are my favorites, but Kapital is a must-see for the sheer size/ridiculousness of it.

I miss Madrid so much 🙁

If pacha is anything like the one in NYC.....

Anyway, I don't think I'm gonna hit any clubs solo. Didn't really bring "clubbing" clothes (I knew I should have brought the skinny tie), and clubs can be fun with people but going solo would be awkward unless I meet some cool people where I'm staying. We'll see haha.

I loveeeed Madrid! I Joy and Kapital were definitely my favs. And then chocolate con churros at 6am when you leave the clubs!

So I shadowed a physiatrist today, and he let me do all of his patient histories by the end of the day. I learned a ton, and I think he really enjoyed the free labor. 🙂

Edit: oh and I love Scrubs. Suck it haters. 😛

Ah, the thing I was asked about on all my applications, even though very few had actually watched the video. Fire poi, one of the movement arts/object manipulation things I'm into. I was a large influence on bringing the art to my old home town, been doing it for about 6 years now. That video was actually kinda bad but it was the most recent one I had at the time (most recent I still have actually). Yeah, I put the link on my AMCAS 8)
