Premio Knife Set

I bought the above on Amazon and it's pretty awesome. Not as sharp as the Wusthof set I used to have at home, but it gets the job done. I'd shop Amazon over Target any day. In store here in BK, I saw it listed for 149...I wonder if they'd actually discount this down 40% like you're wanting..lol.

Edit: OMG JUST READ TARGET'S AD HOLY ****ING **** 40% OFF...RAWR. COULD HAVE SAVED 50 BUCKS. WOMP WOMP WOMP.
 
The only reason I don't like buying stuff on Amazon is that I like seeing and touching things before I buy them (e.g., bedding, flatware, dishes, etc.). Obviously that's not necessary for some things, but I wouldn't buy knives without being able to touch them first.

I tried to warn you about the sale... 😛

Yeah, I've used Henckels knives a lot before so I'm confident enough to buy online. Summoning the courage to drop even $80 on knives is something I'm still working on.

Ya, I'm new to Henckels...but I needed a quality knife set bc the cheapo set I got as a gift just wasn't cutting it. No pun intended. 😛..lol, I crack myself up...that was seriously the first word that came to my head. How apropos. #yesI'madorklikethat. #dealwithit.

MCAT is EZY or something like that was a bizarre troll that just started as many call-out threads as he could in a 10 minute time span. Each thread was titled "So-and-So is FAKE!" I still can't figure out his motives.

Anyway, I need your collective help in getting me to spend less money. Every time I walk into the house, I always have this desire to buy something. This afternoon, it was a 5 dollars worth of nectarines/peaches. A few minute ago, it was a bottle of OJ and 3 things of Chobani greek yogurt for 4 dollars. Total spend today: $13 dollars. The problem is I already have yogurt and OJ at home...

I already put down the new bath rug and I'll hang the new shower curtain after he's done putting the stuff up. It looks puuuurty and I feel accomplished! 🙂

One day we might replace the sink, medicine cabinet, over the toilet cabinet, and/or the light fixture (that's more of a definite), but they would be much bigger projects and they're okay as is right now. I just couldn't stand those old brassy fixtures.

You can't tell in the second picture, but the bottom window pane is a privacy window. See how it looks frosted in the first pic? You can't really see in or out of it, but it does let light through. And even if it wasn't, we don't have neighbors that can see in there.

I agree that we do want some kind of window treatment there. We're just not sure if we want a blind, curtain, or both. It's also a really narrow window so I think we'll need some kind of specialty size.

Hmm, a curtain will probably be cheapest...at our old house, we had frosted glass window (no curtain)...I say you could do without one, if you have no one peering. 🙂

Almost anything is depressing when you have massive debt looming.

I'm in a Negative-Nancy-meets-Sad-Panda kind of mood right now, and debt is just one of the things causing it 🙁

Haven't had one of those, but I did particularly love the schools that sent you applications to their masters programs. I even got one of them from the school I'll be attending. Really, guys?

Daisy, we're all in the same boat. Being pessimistic about it is probably better - you'll pay it off faster, but you can't worry about it all the time.

Someone posted in our FB group that the next four years would be the best of our lives. I'm always curious about why people say this. Wasn't that supposed to be HS, then college? Now it's grad school? Thoughts?

My view on med ed debt is this: Everyone else has done it in the past, and our 6 figure incomes will easily allow us to pay it off--maybe not "as fast a we had hoped"..but to have an additional 3-4K debt burden per month (36K) per year---we're still better off than an average middle class family making 90-100K per year.

You probably have a longer winter break or something...we start 15 Aug (orientation)/22 Aug (classes start)-8 June (last day of exams).

Our winter break is from 22 Dec to 03 Jan. 🙁

Edit: i have a sudden urge to get involved in various "student councils" at my school..we have a lot of committees in which students can be involved...kinda interesting! From budget to student health to curriculum to just basic "student council"...kinda wanna get out of my shell lol. I'm used to getting up in front of large groups of parents/students and just yapping away...or playing politics on a board..I just might be corrupt. hahaha JK.
