Has anyone noticed that a certain poster named after a talk show host is starting threads about random pointless stuff like muff used to?
 
Not yet, but that is part of my goal. The baby's room is still a giant closet and I want to get it unpacked, and hopefully get it painted and get the crib and dresser set up, before school starts. It was just SO blazing hot yesterday I refused to go upstairs except to use the bathroom.
 
At a meeting this morning I was admonished (friendly-like) by a co-worker to send my notice to the team already because he was tired of people being surprised to hear I'm leaving when I have 13 working days left.

I sent it, but then I had a sad.
 
My boss loves me so much that he is throwing me a going-away party at his house.

















Okay, so one of our post-docs landed a teaching position and he is leaving the same week as me and the party is for "both" of us. Still, though.

Yesterday was definitely not a day for working. On top of going outside, I spent all day inside a hot OR wearing 15lbs of lead. I felt like I almost died twice.

If you like it there and worked there a decently long time, it's definitely sad. Heck, I've only been at my job for a year and I'll miss it. Best gig ever, lots of time to bum 'round the internets.

:hello: I wish I had something exciting to post, but I'm just apartment hunting. I saw the most gorgeous studio yesterday (granite counters, stone facade shower, etc) but the living area was 10 x 15 feet at best. :lame: My bedroom now is a good amount bigger than that.

Why did it take 30 min at the DMV w/ only a marriage certificate that wasn't even in English to change to my married name, but 4 months, a court hearing, and $450 to go back to the name I had almost all my life. My parents got a divorce faster than that...

If it helps, you'll probably only be using your apartment for cooking and showering since you'll be studying the rest of the time, so those are the two most crucial parts of the new place. :shrug:
