So, my friends, pretending you hadn't taken the MCAT yet, if you could guarantee that ONE topic would not be on your test, what would it be? I'm talking topic as in a unit in a text book, not an entire course.

Magnetism for me, I think hands down. Blech.

after taking the test and basically expecting a lot of stuff to be there, and then NONE of it was there, i felt like the AAMC had logged into my brain and made the test directly against me.


i might have to second you on the magnetism

for bio: cellular components. easiest thing to learn; i was too lazy to do so. ever.

for ochem: names of reactions. i have a mental block against the little stuff.

for physics: hmmm probably either deciding if an image is real, upright, inverted, etc, or all that archimedes bs. i didnt see enough magnetism to hate it.

for chem: blah, it's all the same
 
msb, we definitely had at least 1 magnetism question with the electron, i'm pretty sure?(don't ban me)

so glad there was NO optics, NO fluids!!!!! 🙂
 
dude, i wanted fluids, and i wanted circuits, and i wanted physiology.
 
i wanted phys so much. not cell phys--systems phys. i also wanted more genetics. and endocrin.
 
it'd be pretty sweet if you could pseudo design your test by picking the topics, or at least a couple.
 
Genetics and physiology would make me happy. I wouldn't mind SN1/2 and E1/2 and stereochemistry from o-chem.

For physics, I'd like kinematics and work & energy. I wouldn't mind circuits, or most of the other electricity stuff (upon reviewing it understand it much more thoroughly) but magnetism makes me want to barf. Gen chem... whatever, it's all good, but I do like stoich.

it's okay now i have cold rain and snow stuck in my head

which is awkward bc it's mostly solos...that i try to sing. outloud.

dunno if you guys ever saw the 1/30 mcat thread, but i was initially planning to take that, and it was a whopping 70 some pages. so many awesome people in that, but then they just disappeared. starrynights posted like twice in this thread, but i thikn she got overwhelmed by the # of posts or something lol

Ochem: a reaction you've never seen before where you must use your knowledge of how arrows push around to figure out the most likely structure.


The orgo passages were beastly as all get out.

so i went to buy a duke championshp tee, and i was expecting the usual 20 bucks for it and it was... but what i wasnt expecting was a new pair of duke shorts half-off for 30 bucks too!!! holler!

I'm a lurker, but only because you guys post most of the stuff at night when I am sleeping or studying. 😀 Another reason is I am in the midwest and most of ya'll are in the east and applying to similar schools. I love reading your evening posts though, and even getting picked on for being "old". :meanie: Helps me get through my work day!
 
I do! I also need about 8 of them sometimes.

She's got pink eye and some kind of cold, too. No pink eye for me, at least not yet... please no. My throat hurts and I just don't feel good. My child is an outbreak monkey.
 
alright, hopefully IV and Flow will catch wind of this. i wish MB#'s would emerge.
