the turnaround on the invite to duke is ridiculously fast, so i don't know if the optional/essays in general count that much there. supposedly the interviews are very heavily focused on the essays, so i think writing the optional essay provides significant upside for the interview->acceptance phase

edit: that shell video was awesome and single-handedly made me forget about my aching jaw where wisdom teeth once were

do we ever get to ask schools "Why me?". i know everyone hates the "Why such and such SOM/COM?" essays.
 
no, asking why me is opening pandora's box. i would think, however, it is because we embody the quality that ma$e failed to find an appropriate word for: "i dont chase money, man, money chase me"

Dudes, trauma training is sucking the life out of me. Its been a long time since I've been this uncomfortable. I both hate it and love it🙂
 
hopefully it's a big week for all, going back to school will at least make this damn no-mail sunday pass quickly

my mom told me today that noone is going to study my transcript as much as I am believing. She sat on adcoms for phamacy and law school for 20+ years and she told me that I have way too many credit hours and that I need to quit obsesseing over taking all these extra undergrad (and grad level) sciences to marginially increase my gpa.



grrrr. life is stressful. at least I've lost about 10lbs. :laugh:

I actually don't doubt this is true. I am getting the feeling that at most schools, the same thing is happening to me. I have way too many units for them to figure out what happened when and where without spending an hour on it.

Word! I'm even happy there are preseason games to watch.

:idea: Some of us 2015ers need to put together a fantasy league! We could draft toward the end of the month to assess the injuries around the league. Anyone interested?
 
no fantasy football for me, thanks.

but I'd be happy to put something together for the college bowl games or the big dance next march. I'm not big on pro sports. I'm more into college sports (hockey for the win!) and elite gymnastics. 👍

also, I might know a thing or two about fashion....which is considered a sport to some 😉 (and on that note, I'm terribly saddened that my issue of vanity fair has gaga on the cover. i hate the gaga. boo.).

I don't want to go either. Tomorrow is my first day alone in the ER after some seriously shoddy 2 hours of training. Not looking forward to it.

The termite people are coming tomorrow, and my house is a mess. I am giving myself 40 minutes to clean as much as I can then I'm going to bed since I need to be up at 5.

As long as it has free live scoring like yahoo then I'm down with ESPN. Speaking of Espn, I've always wondered what was the matter with the guy who says "sports center, BROUGHT TO YOU BY... Smirnoff ice." the guys always sounds like he's constipated or something.

I think having fantasy sports to check will be nice, hopefully it will distract me from the school specific threads and my email.
 
i know for bball and baseball its live stats so i'd assume its the same for nfl.

👍 I've had that "this is the week" feeling for awhile. But each week that feeling intensifies. I hope THIS is the week.

week starting off with my 2nd science LOR finally uploaded and sent to schools. That has to mean it will be a good week! 👍
