Got my acceptance packet today and can finally claim Class of 2015! I didn't want to jinx myself before :hello:
 
I posted in here once pre-acceptance. I kid you not, I knocked on wood after realizing what I did lol

Glad to know I'm not the only one afraid of jinxing myself

Ditto daisy.....I feel sick from all the sugar. Had to go out for Pho to counter balance it.

My resolution last year was to "take the hint". That one worked out really well.

I think this year it will maybe be to focus on consistently doing a good job.

i just quit my stupid ass job and it feels greatttt! the icing on the cake was when i called my dad to tell him and he said "congratulations!" :laugh:.

Ugh, speaking of willpower. Yesterday I went to 7-11 and got two full cartons of ice cream and a king size hershey's bar. When I get hungry I make poor decisions. At least I only ate 2 bowls of ice cream last night and not the whole thing.
 
My job was so awesome to me today....I got hugs and happiness from almost everyone. They all found out I got into med school and were all congratulating me 😳 (I work with like a hundred people and they're not all up on my goings on....or who I am, even😉 )


I miss this thread. I'm sick of being busy. I cannot wait to bake alllll night tonight and all day tomorrow while watching Dexter and lounging in this thread.

My job isn't too bad and the people are great. Monday we had a staff meeting and they congratulated me on graduating with a gift. It was sweet.

I'd hate my job but everyone is so stinkin' nice. I'm not a big mol bio fan and that's what I do day in and day out, but the people make it worth it. 🙂

It helps that I'm on Augmentin for the infection I have and I think it's completely killed my appetite. I don't want to eat ANYTHING.

Uuuuuugh. I can't stop coughing. 🙁 I think I have to go to work tomorrow, too, because I think I'm out of sick time (I have no idea how) but I also think they're going to send me home when I sound like I'm barfing up a lung.

Then the aforementioned Augmentin is upsetting my tummy and not making me want to eat at all.

And then there's a third problem that I think I need to call my midwife about. I suspect something, and if it is what I think it is I need some scans and possibly surgery (I'm not pregnant... but it might be why I haven't been able to get that way).
 
I wish I had a paying job to quit. Instead I'm plodding along volunteering my research talents for now... I need money though - I've been burning a big hole the last few months.

At least Augmentin usually only needs a 3-day course though!

Eek to the "third problem"... I hope it isn't anything too serious!!!
 
Anyone want to take a vacation with me to Montreal in mid-January? I'm going on a vacation for the latter half of the month and swinging by McGill University for "multiple mini interviews". Sound scary!

I so need a job too! Especially with all the costs associated with applying and TRANSITIONING to medical school too...there's rent, computer, moving costs, etc. I'm scared..and the economy major suckzors. I can't do anything with my bio degree haha..

You know, I honestly have to check, but I think it's 7 or 10 days. And they're friggin' horse pills. My God.

And yeah... the third problem is something I've suspected for months, and I talked to some other e-friends today and someone that has what I suspect I have said everything I was talking about sounded exactly like her before she had surgery... twice. 😱 Ugh.

Hey I really hope you're okay!! Ya, augmentin is amazing ****..I've taken it a few times before for Upper Resp Tract Infections...Nothing beats Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid. BAM. (Except maybe Azithromycin lol).

Ooh that sucks... I've taken Augmentin for like 2 or 3 different things and I've only had 3-day courses, but that might have just been the nature of the infections.

I hope you don't need surgery Geeks 🙁
 
Aww, thanks, guys, but honestly, if it's what I think it is, then I want the surgery. It could probably be done either laparoscopically or with a hysteroscopically. I'd be happy to explain why in a PM but I'd rather not post it all here, ya know?
 
Woo sweater party tomorrow night... I love Christmas. We need a really good icebreaker question, this thread is pretty lifeless compared to how it used to be 🙁
