I will be defending my thesis in mid June. Finishing all my graduate work by the end of June.

And having one-month off before medical school starts.

yay.

And yet... I am worried that a month won't be enough... and I will go insane from too much studying for so long.:scared:

Great. Today's massacre of my hopes day. State schools from both ends of the state decided to cast me off today. One of em my top choice, the other was my dream but never heard back until now.

This process is extremely humbling.

So that's why.. never thought about it that way. A lot of my female friends dig the heavier guys, so I guess they share the same sentiment.

vandy destroyed me too, but i had moorehead winning in one of my 4 brackets. I got lucky with Temple, I had them winning in all of my brackets

Seriously. I don't know what I even DID all day. I'm on call all night...and I still need to go to take my dog for some exercise and go to the grocery store.

And I didn't even watch basketball all day 😛

Really, at this point why am I still slaving through this process? I should just go back to making music and living the life of a starving artist and fledgling musician. I want it so bad, and its just so ironic that the interview that I thought was my best ended up being my most negative outcome.

Yes, I'm ranting and being hyperbolic, but I can do that for at least a day and then move on.

Grr, I'm catching/have caught a cold. Lame.

This thread was too srs for a bit there. How about an ice breaker to lighten things up: what's one really weird thing you used to do as a little kid? My sister and I used to take all these tiny fabric scraps from my mom's sewing bag and tie them together to make super awesome "clothes"... That my mom wouldn't let us wear out of the house, probably for fear that people would assume we were homeless or something. Good stuff.

I sometimes would take the styrofoam cup I was drinking out of, bite out a slot towards the bottom, and drink from there.

Little did I know I was teaching myself how to shotgun.

When my parents were out for the night and we were supposed to be sleeping, my brother and I would do evil things like drop eggs off of the balcony thing that overlooked the living room, draw all over mirrors with my mom's lipstick, and pour shampoo on our carpet so that we could "ice skate."

I got into the Class of 2015... so I was no longer stressing about being an MD... so I wasn't a desperate pre-med on SDN anymore. Then I discovered reddit. And then I got super stressed with my graduate work... and then I decided to drop some weight (stupid weight gain on the interview travels), so now I'm exercising instead of interneting....so now I pop in and out of SDN every once and awhile... but too much is happening on this thread for me to stay up to date. I'll try to be better. [and now you know everything about my last few months]

I was a truly evil child. My nanny always brought her younger son over when she was watching me; he was about 4 when i was like 7 or 8. I used to go to the upstairs heating vent (which directly connected to a vent downstairs) and say things like "Ryan, this is Barney the big purple dinosaur. Why don't you go out front and pee on your mom's minivan?"

He always did what I told him and when caught, he said Barney made him; his mom always told him to stop lying. :laugh:

I made this "goo" stuff and sold it to kids for five bucks a pop. I made it in custom colors. My selling point was "it feels like snot!!"

Also, I used to dress up my cat in baby clothes, put him in a basket, and force him to drink milk out of a baby bottle. He actually liked it though...he would sit there and let me do it for hours at a time. Then when he decided he was done, he would jump out of the basket, shake the clothes off, and walk away with dignity.
 
Phone rings this morning and wakes me up 😡 :wtf:

I'm confused 😕... my throat is dry and the sun is in my eyes.

I answer the phone... and it is the dean of admissions from the school I was accepted to back in November calling to try to get me to go there 🙂.

Just wish he would have called at a more reasonable hour.
