Epic multiquote ahead! I'm SO glad we're talking about this in here.
I prefer good old powerpoints printed out (4 slides per page!). I've never even used my laptop to take notes with. I generally prefer reading out of books/paper rather than the computer screen, so that probably explains it.
I do as well, the thing is, I often forget to PRINT the damn things about before class, and I seem to never have a working printer at home.
Me too, I think I'm going to get one. That HP touchsmart you linked in one of the threads looks pretty hawt.
Sun, I have one of the graphic pad things, a Bambu tablet. If you end up going to laptop route let me know, because if/when I get a tablet PC I'll be interested in getting rid of the graphic pad. Basically for the cost of shipping plus some cupcakes.
Yeah, someone else mentioned it so I Googled it and linked it. It DOES look nice!
Also, if anyone here is considering a tablet and doesn't want to pay extra for the Wacom name, I suggest a Genius. They are cheaper and very well reviewed. I got the hubster a big one for Christmas (he is an artist) and he LOVES it.
👍
If I'm going to spend $500, I might as well spend $700ish and get something that is more functional than an iPad and a suitable replacement for my current gigantor 17" laptop. Tablet's not as portable and won't do apps the same way, but my droid incredible is super portable and has all of the medical apps I need. Plus it was free.
So for me, droid + tablet is both more minimal, and more functional than iPad + current laptop (+ droid).
I don't plan on getting rid of our bigger HP laptop at home. For $500 close to 2 years ago, that thing has held up like a CHAMP. It plays my MMO very well and the only problem I've had with it is that I broke the backspace key.
😳 I DO want something more portable to take to and from class, though, especially something I can write notes on.
Also... please to be telling me which medical apps I can get on my Droid Incredible. Pretty please!
I want to streamline. I feel like I could get away with a tablet pc being the only thing I took to campus most days, and that thought makes me happy.
Samesies, and keep my bigger laptop at home for fun stuff.
Someone (was it theWUbear?) had a thread looking into tablet PCs pretty deeply. I think he picked the
Lenovo tablet, or at least was seriously considering it. If I were in the market for one, this one looks pretty tasty.
Ooh! I forgot about these. Guys, GO TO THAT WEBSITE AND SEARCH FOR YOUR SCHOOL! There are some really good deals there. Temple has some and I'm sure other schools will, too.
