I'm now at The Park with him feeling awkward.

It is crowded an there are lots of screaming kids.

This kinda blows.

I doubt I'm getting anything for my birthday at the end of the month. In my parents' mind, paying for my apartment rent, furnishings, moving costs, living expenses, etc. from June until September when my student loans kick in is enough. Up until now, I agreed with them...until my dad called me this morning to say he bought a Vespa for himself and my mom...now I want one!

Really, I knew after interview day which school was my top choice. Then they gave me money and it was truly a no-brainer. Maybe it's easier for me because I stuck to a particular metropolitan area and I'm now not forced to bring staying closed to friends/family into the equation, but I don't believe for a second that most of them truly don't see one as an obvious choice and need to poll SDN about it.

Agreed. Some people were already leaning one way and for some reason want SDN to change their mind 😕 Also, most of the people responding have never/will never set foot in schools that the OP is considering, so you get helpful responses like, "I think Philly is awesome, so if I were you, I would choose School X." or my favorite, one word responses. 🙄

No big plans, but I think both my sisters and I (plus boyfriends) are gonna be home, so we'll probably just do a lot of lounging by the beach/pool and eating my dad's delicious bbq food.

On a similar note, I visited my older sister and her bf over the weekend, and I met his 3-year-old daughter who lives with them, for the first time. She was so cute! She kept calling me Auntie Juliedi and wanted to sit by me or in my lap anywhere we went. I think I'm in love. 😍

Edit: This is totally random but does anyone know the appropriate amount that a poor (almost) med student can get away with paying for a bridal shower gift? I don't want to seem stingy or anything, and I love the bride and am so excited for her, but finances are bit tight for me these days.

Auntie Juliedi (so cute! 🙂 ) - I was in the same situation last year. I wound up spending $25 on the bridal shower gift and $50 on the wedding gift. It was hard on the budget, but that was about as low as I was comfortable going. To each their own though!

Aw, Cougs. I missed you too! I actually was reminded of you daily during my walks into the city. There was this bar/nightclub that had "Cougar" in the title and made me think of you 😍. It looked pretty shady on the outside so I never went in but I was tempted.
