To the land of overcast....and sheep. I'll PM :lame:.
*Peer pressure*

Join, Torr, join!

It would be so much better if Torr joined the Facebook group so we could all know what she looked like... 🙄

You will be severely disappointed. Don't say I didn't warn y'all.

Ahhhh good to have you two back at it 😀

Sadly, that might have been the last Cliff flirt for a while.

Cliffster, know that I'll be missin you!

Je t'aime parce que vous ête du Canada. Felicitations! // I love you because you're from Canada. Congratulations!

I just noticed that some of you wanted to meet me in Philly. Sorry. I had a pretty hectic weekend there - surprisingly. Though I did make it to Monk's Cafe on Sunday. 🙂

I see how it is...
I'm sorry Geek! very very sorry. 🙁 There was a doggie, and people that I was suppose to meet, and I was only there for 2 days. I will probably be in Philly again though (that was my 4th or 5th time in 3 years). I will give you more heads up next time -- instead of my last minute decision to go

Bored and hungry. Can't wait til my last day of work on July 15th!

😡 "Honeybadger, I am lactating with rage!"

You've just witnessed the gleebump. We we're falling off the page; you're welcome.

Thank you. I was trying to find it on tapatalk to save it but looks like you arrived to the scene first.

Slow day peeps?

Slow day peeps?

*shrug* I was getting depressed figuring out my budget for next year and looking for an apartment. I'm going to miss my salary and, y'know, not having to pay for tuition.

Slow day peeps?

Busy busy morning at work. Both the head bosses are gone, which I thought would have made things nice and relaxing, but sadly no. How you doing Shanks?

ugh, I feel ya. My bf and I made a spreadsheet of all my finances/budget for next year, and it makes me want to cry.

Oh and this is for you Cliff.

Ah I'm working on budget, too. I am trying to figure out how much I actually spend now, given my parents and scholarships have been 80% of my income for the past 4 years =X.

$24k living allowance, but if I go with a 1br apt, that could be more than cut in half with rent. (the avg 1br in the area is about 1000, the ones I like are like 1300)

Is that for 10 or 12 months? If it's 10, that sounds pretty awesome depending on where you'll be. Our budget is slightly under $23k for Chicago for 10 months.

I have my budget figured out, and it's kind of depressing.

I went deep into hipster territory today to look for apartments... I was sad I only got to see one super-hipster couple out walking around. They must have all been drinking $7 coffees at Intelligentsia while wearing $1 thrift shop tees.

Sounds about right.

12 months. I'm looking at getting my rent down to around 800 or 900 before utilities, which I think would be fine. Definitely not going to be ballin, but I think my parents will help me with a few things.

Silverlake? A couple of my friends live there, and I fee so out of place whenever I visit the area.

I think they budgeted $26k living expenses for us, for Philly for 10 months. Close to $9k is budgeted for "personal expenses." I'm not quite sure what they anticipate we'll need that much for.

Yeah, Silverlake and Los Feliz.

My school budgeted a little under $2k for personal expenses, but that might be because so many of the students are from SoCal and have low transportation costs to get back home to see family etc...? I don't know, the $9k still sounds high to me

It's all that expensive clubbing. 9k in liquor only goes so far!

you forgot to mention that those tees were made from recycled diapers!!

Woohoo!! Got an abstract accepted for an oral presentation (!) at a big deal national conference in my specialty of interest! Today was one of the best days I've had in a long while! :soexcited:

Congrats!! That's super exciting!

What's your specialty of interest, if I may ask?

Was just dealing with my own budgeting woes before gettin on here and really comforting to hear the same complaints/concerns I've been having.

Called up my financial aid office today worried that I'd need more money. The lady seriously just paused like "huh? You've got more than enough" and I was thinking wow, I'm obviously really bad with my money...people can actually live on this??!!!! Suze Orman was right about me 🙁.

We don't have a personal expenses category, but we do have a separate transportation/travel budget that is pretty hefty. I'm guessing that's a significant part?

Thanks!

The field I'm interested in (and heavily involved in regarding bench research) is radiation oncology. So, my oral presentation will be at the annual American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) meeting this October in Miami Beach! 🙂

Everytime I get a notification that an SDN friend has friended someone female, I wonder if it is Torr. I can't take it anymore!!

lmao. You guys cannot be serious!! This is way too much pressure for me. I must disappear completely.

Daisy, this is all your fault. I'm gonna kick your @zz at Words now just cause I'm angry.

I was just messing with you, darlin'. I'm sure you know that. But yes, we should totally hang out!

Hospital copays for GSWs. 😉

Bring it.
/ just join the Facebook group, you know you're curious about us too.

What's up in 2015 land? Been busy the last month with work and what not. Full ride scholarship, hollaaaaa'.

I haven't been on facebook in like a year. Too many random acquaintances.

I am kinda jealous of the budget you guys received!

I got:
$13,220 for Room/Board
$2500 Misc
$1000 travel
$1100 Loan Feees
$3960 Health Insurance.

All that other crap that isn't R&B I gotta "lump" into my R&B budget just to "live" lol...because they definitely didn't budget for my high COA. I think they assumed I'd want to live in the neighborhood around my school *gasp*. My monthly rent is going to be about $1400 for my share, which is $16,800! 🙁

I feel like my cost of living was estimated at 20k but now I can't remember.

Just depends on how much rent is basically.

I've never been the jealous type, but now's a good a time as any to start. 😛

I guess I'll make a terrible doctor.

Dude, I understand. I was posting all over those "Is an MD worth 300k" threads. I went through denial, anger, bargaining, depression, then acceptance... then I got a nice award letter. Holllaaaa.😀

Anywho, I think we'll all make enough money that it doesn't matter, right? (except FM, ouch.)
