Wikipedia said that Hybrid generally does breakbeat, so I went with that. I totally agree that this particular track is much more trance-y, though.👍

👍 sounds like we're in the same boat. Done with the MCAT, GPA is good, now I'm just getting my LOR's and hope to get my PS at least started soon.

Same here. I'm trying to pick out a (preliminary) list of schools so I can have some essays in mind - especially since I'm applying to Duke :scared: (why the hell does their secondary have to be so monstrous?).

I've been out of school since last Wednesday! Are some of you still taking finals? When do you get out?

you guys should defiantly check out last years prompts, they will 95% stay the same. I did this for my schools (though i was insane and applied to like 40) and it really helped get everything done not only well but submit my 2ndary quick so i could get those early interviews. After looking at dukes 2ndary, i decided to not apply there though ahha.....its so scary.

Same here didnt we take MCAT on same day? Anyways why are people trying to get LOR so early?
 
i downloaded autotune and cakewalk but before i could install them i felt really nervous about the gov finding me and arresting me and then having to post a thread that said something like "criminal record....chances?????"

so i deleted them.

i do not play kirby...while i played mario back in the day a little bit i was a much bigger sonic person. i played skies of arcadia on dreamcast, i remember, but that was a while back. that's also when i used to play starcraft, or there abouts. now i have no time for anything buy mcats, drinking, sdn, drinking, facebook, and occasionally gprime.net to keep me up to speed on interesting internet things.


EDIT: i now know you were asking me if i owned a pony because you thought my sn was kirby....in which case....no i do not own a pony, i don't like pets. they are a lot of responsibility.

yeah i went to a business leaders brunch/day conference thing and listened to people talk about stuff they didn't mean and ask for our money and then i got pictures with them. i didn't smell him hahaha
 
next time smell him. or i guess you should "woft" the smell. just like im chem lab it might be dangerous to just stick your nose in and take in a giant dose of death.

As a chemistry major, I can tell you that without a doubt, the best way to learn anything in chemistry is to smell everything you can in lab. You can't run away from the HCN permeating through the room if you don't know what it smells like!
 
the minute i stepped into a bio lab i forgot all the rules of the chem lab. i immediately was all, hmmmm i wonder what EtBr smells like....

It might be slightly early, but waiting until the end of the school year to ask is definitely late IMO. I intend to submit my primary app June 2. I have no reason why it should be any later and I don't want my LOR's holding up my application.

If I were to ask for my LORs first next next semester (in January), you think that still leave sufficient time to submit as early as possible?

I think that is plenty of time. I think 2-3 months notice is reasonable but extra time is always good. I go to a school where most of my classes are 300-400 people and at the end of the school year a lot of people need LOR for med school, dental school, vet school, and grad school. I've had great luck asking for letters over the break because a lot of my profs are on campus working but don't have to teach (meaning they have more time to meet with me). In fact 1 professor suprised me by submiting a letter 24 hours after meeting with him. The only letter I'm going to collect later is from my research mentor because I hope to have 2 more presentations by the end of the year and I want that included in his letter.

January is a great time as you avoid the rush. Like someone else said its best to ask about 3 months in advance. Profs are busy and writing your LOR isnt going to be their highest priority. You may even have to remind them a few times i know i did. Now i also went to a huge school with an enrollment of 20k+ kids and classes about 400+ people. If you go to a small school probably not a big deal. I had one prof take 4 months to write my letter, I was glad i asked in january. The earlier the better as LORs are the one part of your application that you CANT control and can really screw up and does screw up a lot of applications every year.

i think i'm the only person that DOESN'T want an iphone. although, i've become like a 40y/o soccer mom the way i approach phone tech nowadays. spend too much time with life sci and you forget to learn about the new tech. iphone looks a littttle too much for me.

i'm actually looking at getting the lg xenon or one like it. my friend has the new htc and loves it...had the pre for a while but apparently while it's OS was good the physical design sucked.

i'm good with just a simple phone that makes calls and doesnt drop them and has texting ability.
 
the xenon is pretty nice. If all you want is call/text y dont u get a lower end blackberry. For bbm purposes, i feel like every girl at my school has a blackberry and they all gossip in class on bbm.

I think if your not gonna make use of the 96 000 + aps then the iphone is a waste of $$$$. The GPS and the new video cam on the 3gs = huge for me too.
you can even edit right on the phone loooool im gonna put so many videos on youtube :laugh::laugh:

i was leaving my friends place to go to my other friends place around 9:50pm last night and i was really hungry and thought i wud call up this place that makes amazing mango chicken. I asked them when they were closing..

woman: "we close at 10 were sort of already cleaning up"
ME: " can i make a quick order for take out im really close by" (im on the other side of the city (Toronto..eetz big lol)
woman: "ughhh okay we'll stay open"

hang up. super stoked. doing 160km/h down the highway (dont judge me i really wanted it).
got there a few minutes past 10. the lady was not happy. she took my visa, swiped it, gave me receipt and walked away. hahaha victory!!:laugh::laugh::laugh:
 
it probably had cleaning product in it bc they had cleaned the pans and then put your food in it. 😀

i am a regular at GNC and whole foods...i'm a bit of a orthodox food junky

I believe we did. Same numerical score, too!

I'm getting my LOR's early for a couple reasons:

1 Prof. offered, but a long time ago. I wanted to capitalize on his offer before he started to forget me.

I haven't actually asked any other profs yet, but I think I'm gonna ask like 5 of 'em after a week or two of next semester and see how they all respond and then submit whichever I feel are going to be the best mix =).

(no pressure, though. i didn't start mine 'til march/april.)

I saw that on the PS readers list the other day and thought "I think dw would be a good editor." So, I'll probably take you up on that offer, provided I actually buckle down and crank out a solid rough of my PS over break =)


In other news, I'm having another one of those "aw crap I didn't do enough EC's" moments. Ugh. If I could go back two years and slap myself, I would.

meh, don't worry too much at this point. you're better off focusing your energies on writing and speaking really well about what you DID do... sell yourself!!

if you want the truth, this cycle's going ok for me so far (haha) and i totally quit all my ECs senior year of college. and i applied 2 years out so it's not like adcoms couldn't see that. i've been working since graduation and i've had no ECs during that time, so i talked/wrote a lot about how awesome and meaningful my job is.
