Oh, what happened? Without TMI 😉

This isn't much TMI.

You know what... I typed out the whole story, but since I don't want to get flamed from some nitwit who thinks they know my medical history or understands the way women view their birth experience, I'll give you the really short version.

Half a week before my due date, I was (mis)diagnosed with low fluid and induced because of it, something that I wanted to avoid if at all possible. The in-house OB, when she came in 7 hours into the induction broke my water and said, "Wow! You're a gusher! Yeah, your fluid wasn't low at all!". ...🙁

15 1/2 hours into my induction, my progress stalled and Chicklet was going into distress (probably from the high amount of pit I was on). They C-sectioned me. The induction never should have happened. I used to think women that weren't satisfied with their birth experience needed to get over it. Suffice it to say, easier said than done.

Dang, sry you had to go through a C-section. 🙁 How the heck could they not tell your fluid level? Isn't it pretty simple?

But hey, look on the bright side, it helps you preserve a woman's most valuable part :meanie:

I knew growth estimates are often inaccurate, especially that late in the game. Everything's just too crammed in there to get a really good shot. They used similar measurements (which I didn't know) to calculate fluid level, which can be just as inaccurate.

What really blows my mind is that the tech didn't think my fluid was low. She gave it to the radiologist, and he says I'm just under the threshhold for low fluid.

You know, most of my friends that delivered the good old fashioned way say there's virtually no difference. It goes back to normal. Of course, some others get huge tears and are never the same way. Either way, I don't care, the next one's coming out the way it gets in.

it's about to get real middle school like up in here...

so a girl i never thought i had a shot with told my friend she thinks i'm cute. i hung out with her quite a bit this past weekend and she was making obvious signals to me. i'm trying to play it cool, but still show i'm interested.

If you want to REALLY get middle school, you should leave her a note that says, "Do you like me? Circle yes or no."

Holy HELL how is it 1:30!?!?!

i thought if you had a c-section for the first one, then most likely, you had to continue to have c-sections for next geeklings.

or hell on wheels. depends on the specialty. let me know how that goes if you get the chance.

you will reach baller status by shadowing a resident

Either way, I'd love to see what the life of a resident physician is really like. I think it would be 100000x infinity more informational than shadowing a 20-years-in attending.

Well, I'm already at baller status, I just have to do maintenance ballerizing every once in a while

it's kinda tricky because she's in a different town than me, but she told me to call her next time i was in down. so we'll probably go out or something within the next couple weeks. i'm just trying to determine the amount of contact until we hang out so she knows i'm interested, but still playing it cool. she's a catch.

About 70% of women that attempt a VBAC (vaginal birth after C-section) are successful, it varies based on the reason the first C/S was performed, as well as other things like age, incision, etc. I'm a very good candidate for many reasons. I just have to find a provider that will attend them.

Wow, I feel sorry for geekdude.

=X
Dude, if I could smack you around from the computer screen, I would. 😡

You can just play a casual game or watch a movie, put your arm around her and resume texting on your phone "YOOOO I GOT IT, SHE IN TAH ME!!!!' clearly visible to her while she is watching you do this, and laughing

bring a rubber dude.

Nice! This sounds a lot like another friend's situation, seems like you've got it on lock! =)

That was inappropriate of me. Sorry.

oh man I said the hebrew national hot dog craving comment 3 days ago. You know what I did? Sped down to the HOME DEPOT and got myself under that cart umbrella and placed the order of my life. Checked out some spackle while I was there, too.

spicey mustard, ketchup, and a claussen pickle on a hebrew national hot dog... yum.

thanks for the female approval geekmama. that's what i was really looking for by sharing that info. i've had 3 female approvals, so i think i'm good to go. haha

Hey guys. Went kayaking in the gulf of mexico yesterday...my arms hurt so bad right now

it's definitely a workout. doubles are the way to go.

My stomach hurts now too aaaaaaahhhhhh and my car officially stalled out today 🙁

I am so friggin' tired I could seriously put my head on my desk and be gone in about 45 seconds.

Yea, it's nice to be done but I still feel like I have a lot of homework to do for some reason...maybe it's because I still have to get all of my LORs done 🙁 Oh, and I managed to sign up for an mcat retake (just in case) on June 17th! Someone must have just dropped their seat near me!

have u taken it yet? ive prolly asked before but so many of u kids to keep track of! 😀

are u working? or in school
Working.

Okay... God dammit.

Daycare called and I had to pick her up because she spiked a fever after her nap. And the rule is I have to keep her out for 24 hours afterwards, so I can't send her to daycare tomorrow, which I was going to do. I took off from work so I can chill and do some light review before test day. FML. So much for that.

ahhh, babies, the world's best germ incubators. cant u give her some baby nyquil or something so she wont be too loud?

If by Baby Nyquil you mean putting Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland on a continuous loop all day, then yes.
