I think the requirement of having science professors write LORs doesn't make much sense for people whose majors aren't science. I wasn't a science major and knew my psychology professors much better than any science professor, since required sciences are all huge lecture classes. It seems like grades should be enough to show science ability, and LORs should be about personality/character.

TOTALLY agree. I wish all of my LORs could be from employers because THEY are the ones that see me more hours of the day and also know the stresses I deal with in school yet despite it all, I still remain awesome on the job. Teachers only care if I get an A or not and don't give a **** or don't know that I haven't slept in 3 days. LAME.

We should start a revolution.

My current employer is my former undergrad science professor/research mentor. Best LOR ever. Tell me how jealous you are. I want to feed on your sweet, sweet jealousy

I feel like this might break the forum rules, and if I get banned then what will I do to entertain myself while I refresh my email and admission status pages every 5 minutes for the next 10 months or so? If it's not breaking the rules, I just need to crop or pixelate something, brb real quick-like.

I feel like I have "obvious" diversity, and given that I've already mentioned some of that in my personal statement, I've been trying to come up with other things. It's hard.

It was supposed to be a South Park reference. Scott Tenorman episode, anyone? I guess my joke failed twice since it wasn't funny AND make Cougs feel bad
 
Just got two more secondaries! UVA & Tulane 👍! Lets hear it for 2 weeks off during Mardi Gras and spicy gumbo!

6? Sounds like an awesome weekend 😛 I've got 3 I'm going to do my best to finish this weekend. At least I'm starting to figure out why I'm special :laugh: My summer classes are forcing me to work on secondaries far slower than I would otherwise.

We could be roommates Flow, b/c the 11 am breakfast is definitely how I roll 👍

Sometimes I wake up too late and have to skip breakfast entirely, but I always enjoy a good brinner (breakfast for dinner). A stack of pancakes with butter and syrup is good any time of day

but no that is not weird. although i never have set times that i get hungry...i just eat whenever, no matter how early or late
 
I tend to get hungry around 10, 11:30 3 and 6. I have a light snack around 3 and then dinner at 6
 
Someone pinch me to wake me up. I think I'm living in a nightmare. My LOR writer from biology didn't use official letterhead or sign the letter (how is that even possible?) apparently. :scared: Bonus: he no longer works at the university and I have no way of getting a hold of him now. Don't really know what to do now.

sorry that sucks 🙁. I went through a similar problem with 2 of my writers not signing their letters.

Try your profs university e-mail. Hopefully he forwarded to whatever account he is currently using.

Hm, seems like it's time for some emergency e-mailing. First - harass the writer of the first letter about this letter any way possible.

Second letter - maybe try contacting the school to see if they know where he went?

And I'd suggest you start thinking of alternatives, even if they're not your first choice. You can do this! It will all work out, as soon as you calm down. *SDN e-hugs*

Yeah, luckily I was able to send an email to the missing letter writer saying "don't forget to put it on letterhead"! Hah🙂 We'll see if she gets the hint. She told me today at the absolute LATEST but more likely 2 weeks ago. Blah.

School doesn't know...it is a CC. It is not too horrible though because he is science letter #3....if the other two are fine and on letterhead, it can just be chucked. I got an extra for exactly this reason.

Email was sent to the non-letterhead prof which she must be expecting because my friend who got a letter from me was the one who told me his wasn't on letterhead.

I can't believe I didn't know about the strictness of letterhead enough to remind people🙁 Except for this one lazy letter, all of my letters were into Interfolio in March🙁

I've done all the damage control I can do for today.

I think I need to go watch Tom Cruise blow stuff up.
Edit: Could I possibly say "letterhead" any more than I already have?
 
wait a second... what is this letter head thing? I just asked for letters, how do i know if they are on letterheads and signed? the F!?!

You can call amcas to verify if your letters are signed and on letterhead. Sorry you're stressing.
