It's disappointing, yes. But I guarantee this will not be the last conversation we have about orgasms. Probably because the med school application process is a lot like bad sex. We spend a long time preparing for it, thinking it's going to be a great new experience. At first it's exciting, but then we realize it's just a lot of work and the reward may not be so great. By the end, even though it turned out well, we're just so sick of it that we want it to stop.

Yeah... there's no way I'm getting need aid, though my parents aren't gonna pay for (much) of my tuition/expensies. The classic middle class conundrum.

I hope they are! Though, judging by premeds, it could be touch and go.

I definitely didn't post much of anywhere (except the MCAT thread for my date) for a long time because people here can be so intense about everything. I prefer for everything I say not to be subject to debate.

Haha--EXACTLY. That, or i feel like people ignored my posts. And not to mention, some SDN'ers can be so black and white about admissions, which bothers me. I have learned to not take the WAMC thread seriously anymore...
 
Premeds like to take personality out of the equation, but I've had MD's tell me that I'll get in based on that more than anything else. I kinda wish they hadn't said that because I don't like to let that kinda thing get to my head lol.

I generally try not to look in there. They'd have me absolutely terrified about my chances just because SDN has a very specific idea of the perfect applicant.

yea herpes is terrifyingly asymptomatic. It's not like you can get naked with someone and diagnose them unless they are having a flare-up.

Med school = spending 4 years with the same 100-150 ppl, so I really really hope all premeds are like you guys 😍
 
I hate trying to decide whether "in medical school" or "if I were accepted to medical school" is better... one is direct and confident, but maybe cocky, and the other is humble, weak, and wordy.
 
Ugh, I keep getting calls from a blocked number, but they don't let it ring more than once before hanging up. And they're calling at all hours, and when I am on call I have to leave my phone on....and I don't appreciate getting multiple calls at 2am that are NOT from the hospital.


And somehow ATT doesn't allow you to block blocked callers??? WTF?
If I have to change my phone number because of this bull**** I will be so pissed.

Yeah that's the statistic I usually cite and I did the same thing. I try to keep STD's in mind but if I do so too much, I get a little freaked out lol.

The guy staying on my couch is such an ass.

He totally flaked on me for plans we made and honestly has ****ed up my entire weekend. This was my 5 day vacation dammit. He sucks. So pissed. Can't wait to kick him out on Thursday. I have a feeling he thinks he will be staying longer than a week. Screw that.

P.S. has anyone started the JHU secondary? For the essay on areas of medicine that interest you...how much of the 1100 character limit did you use? I feel like I won't even graze 700.
