You will probably want a cover to protect the screen. I use one of the smartcovers from Apple, and it is pretty awesome. For trips I also have a canvas switcheasy, which gives a little more protection and doubles as a stand.

Anyway, there are a lot of options, and various aesthetics that you can choose to go with. Don't forget what YOU want though.

Although if you're kind of clutzy, I would highly recommend getting a full-body case. Drops = death of your iPad.

👍 yes, shield for the screen is a must in my opinion. There are various different brands out there, I use the Zag shield, but anything else would work too.

And I agree that color is definitely a personal preference, so choose what you like 🙂

I had one of those nice matte anti-static ones, but it took away from the beauty of the display. Maybe I will try out a Zag cover. Thanks for the tip 🙂

Also, the 3G ones have a black color on a small part in the back, which I think spices it up (instead of being all white)...

I have a matte zag shield one and yes, it does take away a little from the color intensity. However, it works for me because I do a lot of reading in a day light and the shield is excellent in taking away the glare.

But Zag have clear shields too, which are very good. Also, when you buy a shield they give you a lifetime warranty, so you can change it for free every few months if you want - no questions asked. It's pretty sweet 🙂

i had a matte antiglare screen MBP and didn't love it...just wasn't...SHINY. haha

you guys are the best, thanks for the advice!

Where do you have to go to get it installed? I've always put them on myself--not super hard but its a chore.

We're talking about the covers that adhere to the surface of the screen. It's difficult to do it without dust particles getting in between. I discovered though if you get a loop of tape around your finger you can snatch them off pretty easily though =)

If you ever need advice on a case, just let me know. 😉 I literally spent three months researching all cases on the market before I found the perfect one and I absolutely love it!

Ps, I also have an extra heavy duty full body zag case...

I was going to ask what case you had, but... 😛

Did the same thing with the researching of cases forever though. I only use it when Im transporting it now though--I love the feel of the bare iPad. When you have the case on all the time, it takes a little bit away from its "sexiness."

Yeah, I've never done it myself. I tried it on the iphone and there were lots of bubbles...

SO yeah, I take it to the store and they instal it perfectly - it usually takes about 20-30min with the drying and everything.

I agree, but the case I have has very sleek leather business look to it, it's light, and it has numerous positions for the iPad. Anyway, I rarely am completely satisfied with accessories and such, but I must say this case is perfect 🙂 it's the yoobao black leather case 🙂
