Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
After converting to Splenda, I can no longer stand the awful taste and "nastiness" left by sugar if I don't immediately brush my teeth. I don't eat much sweet stuff though. I sort of broke my sweets habit when Dunkin' Donuts, Entenmann's snacks, and Little Debbie snack cakes became off-limits due to the gluten-free diet (I've decided to avoid replacing them with GF versions). That stuff is addictive.

oatmeal creme pies, anyone?

I've started eating savory oatmeal with onions, mushrooms, and a fried egg, topped with grated Parmesan. It sounds odd, but surprisingly tasty.

😵 interesting....though, anything with a fried or poached egg is delicious!

ah good. and I thought I was the only only who coats their oatmeal with so much cinnamon. yummm

I go to town on that shaker. nomnomnom

Hahaha I do the same thing, but with Splenda. I'll eat like healthy boring cereal and dump 4 packets of Splenda on top. You choose diabetes, I choose cancer.

I put splenda in everything. My oatmeal gets one pack, my coffee gets another pack. Then I drink diet soda. I think I have a problem.

i dare you to have a taste test. 1 nibble of each sweetener blindfolded served to you on a spoon. It sounds easy to guess, but its pretty difficult. Most people I know will only guess 1 right out of splenda, equal, sweet n low, and regular sugar

Me too! If I consume anything with too much sugar, especially regular coke, I get dizzy and neauseous. I'm not a favor of those blood sugar spikes, hence why I severely limit my sweets now. I just bake, and give the stuff away (I'll try a bite of what I make just for accuracy, but that's it)

My work just had a huge event. Tons of wraps, pasta salad, chips and cookies. This is in addition to the Jimmy Johns, pastries, doughnuts and cookies we already have left over.

Diet=ruined, AGAIN.

maybe the world is trying to tell you something?

Perhaps...I ate fast food for every meal the past two days while traveling, and still managed to lose a pound. I shall test out this theory.

 👍

good news: i bought my next big plane ticket today. bad news: i've officially reached that point where i am afraid to open my credit card bills. :scared: med students dont need any savings, right? right?

Yikes. 2 rejections in my inbox within 6 minutes of each other.... must be March.

dudes, did Frazier or another mod delete the "waitlist train - all aboard" thread? 🙁 🙁

cannot find, and DESPERATELY want to post gif booting phnerd from it now that she's got AN ACCEPTANCE! 😀

Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret message.

Uhhh can I tell you how much I love you right now? 😍😍😍:biglove::biglove::biglove:

I put a ton of sugar in my oatmeal, but then again I usually put sugar in everything that has a plain taste to it. If i have cornflakes or regular cheerios for breakfast, I add sugar. Sometimes I add sugar to my spaghetti too if I feel like it. I really like sugar.

Also, I don't know how I didn't see this before, but I felt that this gif was appropriate.

Wasn't one supposed to be getting back to you right about now?

called them today and I still have to wait since my file wasn't signed by the dean even though a decision had been made and they could have told me then.

Your whale is missing a tooth.

I hope you hear back soon! :xf:

Ok, guys. OK. OK. OK. More on the oatmeal front.

This time, no fruit, but I used 2 tsp of maple syrup and 1 tsp of black currant cordial. It was amazing.

Wow, that sounds amazing. If I wasn't currently trying to lose weight, I would definitely try some of these out.

Are you on the no oatmeal diet or something? Most of these aren't terribly caloric if you make them with just one packet of oatmeal.

Nooo I have plain oats with almonds and cinnamon almost every day. I just have to watch the sugar, hence no maple syrup, jam, etc. It sounds delicious though!

Saturday is pretty much my only non-oatmeal-for-breakfast day. I had a GF waffle with light whipped cream and two turkey sausage links. For lunch, I will be having P.F. Chang's leftovers. Yay!

omnomnomnom!

*looks down at yogurt, celery and protein bar*

sigh.

Today I had 1 cup of rolled oats with water, whey powder, and just a little bit of chocolate soymilk.

No cooking required! And it actually tastes pretty good!

I'll stick to my junk food thank you very much.

On that note, I just bought a 2.5 lb brisket for the slow cooker tomorrow. I will have dreams of brisket tonight.

I had a sausage egg and cheese bagels sandwich and an iced vanilla coffee for breakfast today. Twas delicious

For lunch, I'm thinking about a trip to this sandwich shop for a nice philly cheesesteak. Healthy? Probably not. Delicious? Hells yeah

Woot stealth top. On my phone so 90s musical goodness will have to wait til later.

More like sitting in the library studying for midterms. You can call that celebrating if you like.

i picked up a free cupcake this am, donated some old clothes, put some other old clothes on consignment, had brunch with two girlfriends, went shopping with them (topshop is intimidating, yo) then had dinner with another friend at a new restaurant in town. it was a luxurious albeit productive day.

now i'm waiting while my ridiculously decadent dinner digests a teeny bit before hopefully heading to the gym. 🙂 my muscles, they are atrophying...

I was visiting my grandparents. They're quite a sharp, spry pair of mid-80-somethings. I hope to age like them instead of my other pair of grandparents, one of whom died at age 25 of a heart attack, while the other is in the later stages of Alzheimer's.

Today's oatmeal breakfast goodness... I decided to upgrade from peanut butter to Nutella!

nutella is awesome. when i lived abroad in france, peanut butter was insanely expensive and nutella was ridiculously cheap, so i happily subbed out nutella for pb in my noms. it was a glorious time.
