So many kids in my high school class were this:

Took till my freshman year of college to realize those dudes are social rejects who mostly weren't smart enough to make it in college. They turn out to be this loser (who is probably working at Pita Pit but "working on his made rap game, gonna make it hoooooooooge (huge for people who don't suck at life).

there are some medical reps here at the hospital i volunteer at that wear these orange scrubs. Looks like prison clothes. The urge to laugh in front of them is strong.

Considering that the original razr was just as expensive when it first came out, I'm not surprised that its super expensive.

I had a great high school experience. Those were, without a doubt, some of the best years of my life. I was in an awesome, family-like environmental science magnet program that took me exploring in the entire state of FL and even out to Yellowstone. I have credits from Montana State University - Bozeman for a course I took out there with some of my high school peeps. I want to go back...

I loved (public) high school.... Showed up / was literate --> top 10% of class. Free athletic events; pep rallies of questionable relevance/significance that involved racing teachers on tricycles; free weekends/summers; opportunity to watch a lot of TV and play a lot of video games without the attendant sense of shame that comes with being 24 and still doing those things; ability to mooch off my parents for most financial and domestic needs; availability of Hostess cupcakes, Papa John's pizza, cheesy bosco sticks, and chicken tenders all in the same a la carte lunch line... the list goes on.
 
I enjoyed the last two years of high school and hated the first two. I was really awkward and nerdy and hadn't really developed a sense of style yet. by the time my Junior year came around, i had gotten all that, and had managed to balance both the jock/nerd lifestyle even though my school didn't really have clicks like that. I miss it sometimes, then I remember how awkward I was as a freshman and am glad that its over.

During freshman year, I remember I poured orange Gatorade all over myself not knowing the cap was loose while trying to demonstrate/tell my team mates during school lunch time about what happened the other day in football practice.

Aw man. I was also really awkward as a freshman. I didn't talk to anyone until the very end of the year. Sophomore year, I became that friendly, funny nerd that both the nerds and the cooler people seem to be OK with. It was great. No teasing, yet plenty of nerdiness, and lots of buddies. I also gained 30 pounds that year (90 to 120, baby! Huge growth spurt!), and people stopped calling me Stickgirl.

For some reason, that name reminds me of Slim from "A Bug's Life." Try picturing him as a female character, with longer lashes and all - even if that sounds somewhat grotesque.... :laugh:

goat cheese burger with onion rings and corn salsa

mac and cheese with bacon and roasted red peppers
 
Do we need separate shoes just for anatomy lab? I heard the smell sticks to you so I am assuming it sticks to the shoes too. What kind of shoes are recommended to get for anatomy lab?

in my experience, i used a pair of old running shoes that were worn out for training purposes, and threw them out at the end of the year. i wouldn't worry about the "smell" sticking to your shoes for all the reasons people stated in the other thread.

i have like 10 pairs of scrubs from a job that required me to wear scrubs all day every day, so i feel no qualms about throwing away a few if they get really gross. i wont stress about washing them every week/month...again, like others have said, the overwhelming smell of formaldehyde kind of blocks everything out. just make sure to wear deodorant if you have BO. that's nasty. and for the record, i'm pretty sure everyone has a bit of BO after sweating over a dissection for a few hours.

if you're giving thought to things like this now, you're probably conscientious enough of your hygiene that you won't be one of the smelly offenders of your class. :laugh:

the portions were huge. those burgers were 10 oz patties. i ate my burger, and split the mac and cheese with my friend.

you can't join me on my next food adventure, since bhaus, stevej and i are going on one tonight, and you don't live anywhere near us.

*Sigh* I was supposed to leave for my first summer trip today, but alas, I am stuck at home with a horrible cough. Probably caught it from my mom and/or my brother, who just recovered from bronchitis in the last 2 weeks.

Let's hope my trip in July goes through. I'm not wasting my last summer before med school sitting around doing nothing 😡.

Yes, you will get fluids on them. I bought crocus on eBay(the kind without holes in the front).

Many people just brought old tennis shoes, which I think works fine. Just be prepared to trash them at the end of anatomy , they are going to smell terrible.
