I'm the passenger! I'm oh so slow on this thing. And it smells like cows in the beautiful central valley, so I'm distracted. 😀

I'll watch my back 👍i'd be careful, though. i hear pittsburgh is haunted with the ghosts of bad baseball players past
anyone else assume they would have been the most productive, accomplished person ever if only they had been born 50 or so years earlier?
douchey question: is an offer of a collegiate athletic scholarship worth putting down if it was not accepted?
that's what she said?? no, probably not...
anyway, this whole posting fragmented thoughts on forums is not helping my writing style as i stare blankly at a 1000-character-long PS

I grew up in a low income area in Philadelphia. I was a good kid, but I was always getting into trouble with some local hoodlums in my neighborhood. Eventually it got so bad that my mother sent me away to live with my uncle, aunt, and cousins in Bel-Air, California. My uncle was a judge and very fat. I often saw his medical problems and was intrigued by the physiology of the cardiovascular system. My cousin Carleton is a very uptight guy, but very nice. His efforts to get into Princeton (Uncle Phil's alma mater) inspired me to work hard in life. Finally, it was really an incident with my butler Jeffery that showed me I belonged in medicine. Jeffery was insolent and quite liberal with insults. Still, he had a good heart deep down. One day a kid showed up and said that Jefferey was his father and needed money. It ended up that this was a con artist, and that they were not related. That incident turned me on to genetics, and I've never looked back since. I know that medicine is my true calling. Oh yea, and I have a hot, ditsy cousin that does the weather.
amen. but what can you do? these birds... they're just so angry
Here my friend, I have written your PS for you.

I was personally told never to get a letter from someone without a doctorate. Except for the University of North Dakota, which actually requires a letter from a friend and/or colleague, I don't think a letter from a buddy currently in med school would be worth a lick. It's unfortunate, but there's too much potential for bias-induced truth-stretching.
I don't think Adcoms will take the word of a med student over those of professors, doctors, and people in managerial positions as far as when it comes to whether or not you'd be a good fit. Besides, isn't that what the secondaries and interview are for? I guess it wouldn't hurt to have one, but they should be only considered after you've found the basic 3 letters the school requires.
also nadaba your stats are stupid
that is all
You must be swift as a coursing river
With all the force of a great typhoon
With all the strength of a raging fire
Mysterious as the dark side of THE MOOOOOON!!
This is definitely one of my pump-up songs. I'm guessing the reason I did poorly on the mcat was that I didn't listen to this song on the drive there 😛
I think you're onto something 🙂.
I love your avatar.

Recalculated my GPA and found out that it sucks. Eff my undergrad for making things so hard/unfair. I'm sure Vandy can relate haha
Mine is in 19...still have so much to do![]()
Don't get me started. I'll complain until sundown. One prof told us that he encourages participation. I raised my hand every now and then in his class to comment, but wasn't super vocal. At the end of the semester I found out that 4% of our grade was participation, and he gave me 0 out of 4. Goodbye A-. I have plenty more stories where that came from.
My cell bio prof was ridiculous. Each exam had about 600 detailed slides of info on it and they tested the most minute details. I was doing fine on them, until the final. She had 1/4 of the cumulative final over two articles that we spent 30 minutes in class discussing, amidst the other 2000 slides we had to know. Needless to say, I did not do well. asdfkljasdflkajsdf I think that class dropped my gpa's by .1 in itself
