I've seen a few bad sunburns in my day. We had a lady in the ER I was volunteering in come in... we thought she had been burned by cooking oil... no... it was a sunburn. Can you say thymine dimers up the *****?

oh, I'm waiting for my results. I took the test on 6/16. I'm just getting nervous from the wait and the looming dread that comes from a possibility of a retake.

Retake? Nahhh, you blew it out of the water. Did you write AM or PM that day? My friend wrote that day, and said it was a gong show.

Well I'm currently in SoCal right now, but what you got against NorCal, that place is awesome.

And I took it in the AM, not sure what your friend meant by gong show though.

Holy crap yes, the physical sciences was definitely a gong show then. Glad I wasn't the only one who felt that. Hoping for a sweet curve (at least to the extent that MCAT does that) because that ish was crazy confusing.

Plus, I'm near KC, BWSTW is in Kansas, and BHaus is from Kansas. It makes much more sense for everyone just to meet in KC 🙂 We can eat some KC barbecue!😍

Yeah, no kidding. I'm sure it will work out for the best. Although my friend got super lucky... one of her passages in the BS section was based on a paper that we read in our molecular virology class. She said the figures were dumbed down, but she felt pretty clutch knowing for SURE the answer to 6 questions on that section.

I fly a lot, so I got frequent flyer miles thanks to Delta. So I'm down for anywhere. I've always wanted to go to Kansas. Just so that when I leave I can tell the person I'm with...

Haha, I drive from Kansas to Missouri fairly frequently, so I could say that a lot.

After that mess of a physical sciences, the other sections seemed much easier to me. My BS strengths are definitely in the micro/mol/cell bio field and my test seemed to have a good number of questions related to those fields so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I don't want to take this test again, I'd be happy with anything 30+ even or not.

Hmmm.

There is at least five of us here in California (I could probably even restrict it to SoCal) and two in Colorado. # of Midwesterners ~ # of West-coasters, so we should meet up in the middle....Las Vegas. :meanie:

I felt the same way when I got my 30. But that 8 I had in physical sciences with 11's in everything else would have done me no good with my GPA. I swear, it's like the AAMC wants you to write the test at least 2-3 times. It's a cash grab for them.

Also, I agree. I swear they just give you a low score so you have to pay for a retake.

Back in the day when the MCAT was offered twice a year. There was less emphasis on the test score. Now that it's offered so often, everyone wants to rewrite a 34 to get a 38.

Which is stupid. The purpose of the test is to assess readiness for medical school. 7-8 years ago, if someone wanted to rewrite a 32-33, they'd look at them like they were crazy. MCAT scores are inflated, and so are GPAs. It's ridiculous.

I don't know if I could do that if my score comes out 30+ with my PS below 10, its easily my hardest subject and I don't know how much better i could do on it.

I know what you mean. I scored a 10-9-10 when my averages were about 11-12-11. I know I could do better on verbal, but who knows about PS and BS.
