Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you both suck 😡😡😡😡

Almost done with my PS, almost done studying for tomorrow's final.

Had chinese food with my friend's family. SO delicious, omg! I've never had noodles pan-fried, so I loved the crispy, yet soggy noodle-y taste 😍😍😍 Also, had hot tea instead of water during dinner. Lastly, I was the darkest person at the table....maybe even the restaurant :laugh::laugh:

the same thing happens to me when I go to an Asian restaurant with my friends. That plus being considerably taller too

and the only PS I've been working on is the MCAT one. 4 DAYS!!!!

...I'm not tall, so I'm just the darkest haha I was getting the "meet the parents" style grilling throughout the whole meal haha
I <3 thai food
yup, me too 😍😍😍

I'm usually not the darkest, but I'm definitely the tallest (girl, anyway) whenever I go out with my friends as well.

Don't u guys leave the thread to sleep 😀

trying, especially since I'm trying to condition my body into waking up at 6:00 for the past week. Staying up is just so easy these days.

Haha.
Staying up is also easy when you're taking 12 summer credits 😳 i would wish this obscene schedule on no premed. Physics Physiology and Virology at the same time, then Physics II (by itself, thank God)

I was verified on 6/7. When do you usually get secondary applications request? I am planning to be out of country for 3 weeks starting 6/18 and little worried that I won't be able send secondary applications quickly. Is it advisable to wait for few weeks once you receive secondary app requests from potential universities? Appreciate your response.

Stepped away for the weekend and missed a lot. Also, Mavs 😀.

I grew up a mile and a half from Wrigley. I hope that doesn't diminish your opinion of me too much.

If it makes you feel better, there was a period of time in my childhood when I was a Sox fan. That was probably after I went to my first Cubs game and they got shellacked. By the Expos, I think. *sigh*

Not too much, but a little bit 😉.

haha oh gosh, I don't want to know how much worse it gets in person. And yeah, I also have around 30 first cousins. Few of them are in medicine, most in business/engineering. Props for being the golden child!

It gets much worse .

Some peeps in the C/O 2015 thread were accusing us of purposefully giving their thread low ratings (their thread is 3-star now).

I saw that....then the proceeded to make fun of us and the fact that we're barely applying

😡. I'm sensing a war on the horizon.

I've been wishing all day I could fast forward to like ten months from now when this whole application process is over. But, I don't want to think about it too much because I don't want to jinx myself.

Yea, I get this a lot too. Just have to live in the moment and put it in the back of your mind other than when it is necessary to dive back in.

Either of you end up doing it? Someone posted a vid. Pretty fun.

I didn't 🙁. Ended up having one of those Friday and Saturday go-out marathons.

The general consensus is to get out secondaries as quick as possible without sacrificing quality. Good luck to you.

I assume the laughing is directed at the thought of anyone wanting to play anything else 😉.

more like the thought of anyone thinking its a sport worth watching, especially during the NBA finals.

Playing is fine, I enjoy playing the sport myself, but watching it is 😴

I'm a sports fanatic, but I never got into soccer. Big 4 sports + MMA/boxing for me.

Hockey games are fuuuuuun!!!!! 😍

Just watched the 3-hour long version of the "Nyan Cat" video a few days ago. Your avatar brings those memories all back.

I was in South Africa for a month for the World Cup this past Summer. If you'd been with me you'd be singing a different tune 🙂. But yes, you do get disappointed by a boring game every now and then. Perhaps you just don't appreciate the game fully. For instance, I like playing baseball, but I hate watching it. I don't know all of the little details though, and sometimes in sports it takes that knowledge to really appreciate what's going on. I definitely like watching basketball and hockey as well. Football not so much.

Yep- I enjoy watching baseball a lot, but that is because I understand the dynamics of pitching and the intricacies of the game as a whole. Every pitch means something, so there is a lot more going on than people think.

I would like baseball a lot more if the players would just hurry up and play the stupid game. I get really annoyed when I'm watching a batter / pitcher face off for 10 seconds, and right when the pitcher is about to go in his motion, the batter calls time (or whatever it's called in baseball) and steps outside of the batter's box.

Rinse. Wash. Repeat. Urgh.

I can only imagine just how much louder and annoying those vuvuzelas are in person. :meanie:

Yea you'll get that. Some of the more entertaining games to watch have fast-paced pitchers like Mark Buehrle. Another reason I love baseball is how stats-oriented it is. Sorry, it's the math geek in me. 🙂

Indeed. I just learned this year that Vanderbilt has a great baseball team🙂o), so I went to a game or two. The people I was with actually understand baseball, and were definitely enjoying it more than me. It was nice to see my school actually win in sports though .

I was staying in Johannesburg in the suburbs, and even there you could hear people in the streets at 3am going to town on those things 😡. The only fans that hated them/refused to use them were us Americans, and a few European countries (Germany, England, Holland, etc.).

Yes, we'd be singing this tune:

Yep. Baseball is just so classic and awesome. I love it. And I did know that Vandy is pretty good. College baseball isn't really my thing, though.

Ugh!

If I'm going to go deaf, it's going to be because of either techno or auto racing*...

* - no, not NASCAR

Well college sports usually boils down to two sports, football and basketball. So if your schools has neither (or aren't good at either one) then you don't follow them.

For example, my school is like one game away from going to the college world series (which I found out existed like a year ago ) and I couldn't care less.

👍👍👍 That sums up college sports haha. My schools soccer team won the conference championship and I didn't really hear about it until I was at a basketball game

True. Honestly, I'm not much of a college sports fan in general. I enjoy the bowl games in football and march madness in basketball, but that's about it.

My brother took statistics solely for this reason.

That would require me submitting my primary app 🙁

+1 *sigh*
