Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They were high-ish on research rankings.

He looked at my nature pub and was basically like "cool..."

90% of their students had done research. But let's be serious, everyone can do research more or less. They want unique experiences. I mentioned a few ECs not having anything to do with medicine. We talked about those the most... Well rounded applicants for the win.

I really respect adcoms now. They have a lot to sift through. The pile of applications was daunting. I was like.... HOLY...you're going to read ALL OF THAT!!! :scared:

👍 I'm trying to play up the well-rounded thing to hide some other areas that I'm weak in

How's this:

Computer tech --> paralegal --> office assistant --> Dr.

I need to pick a career already! :meanie:

You've got experience... that some of us DEFINITELY don't have.
I think that's valuable in a medical school class. Yeah sure you need your mix of 22 year old gunners, but you also need those people who've seen the world, worked other fields.

Makes it all harmonious and happy or some ****.

Alright time for dinner, finally. Now that my iBanking soul-lacking friends are done stealing money for the day.

how should i ask my boss for a raise?

im pretty much managing 3 people under me now.

I think I will have enough money to spend this weekend!
I guess that is the good thing about not having any more secondaries.

CONGRATS CODEBLU! That's freaking awesome. I wish I was in your shoes!

Also, on that note, I will be taking down my MDApps soon. I haven't really submitted to any schools yet so I'm fine until August. But come secondary submission, its gone.

Wow lucky. I'm going onto my second year of managing 30 people on my research team for no pay. Sigh....I hope adcoms will reflect favorable on that.

Changed my MDApps in light of CodeBlu's discussion with the adcom.

No, I'm your computer stalker!!!!! 😉

Basic science or clinical?

That is a lot. 😱

That is a lot of people. Think of the whining! I turned down a supervision role because I didn't think that I could handle all the nurses *****ing all day long.

All the adcoms reading this thread must be getting upset lol.

Ah its okay, I'm pretty sure my SDN posts are tame.

Clinical...at least 10 hours/week since I started college.

I guess that ain't too bad.

I'm working full time, with weekends sometimes...

For me, it is kind difficult juggling which experiment each person is doing and teaching them the background of chemical properties and reactions.

I have some pretty juicy posts. I can delete them, though! It seems like a lot of work for an adcom to spend a lot of time monitoring SDN especially since a lot of premeds don't even use it.

what if there is a mole lurking within our presence?!?!?! Disguised as one of us?!?!

:scared:

On a MDApps stalking note, you have to write a thesis for nursing? Sheesh.

Sure did. It was like 70 something pages long. It was kind of cool, though, to apply things that I learned in statistics.

Your profile is awesome! Did you work some HTML magic into it?

Yeah, but I have some more work to do on it to flesh things out. I got too tired the other night. It was Paul411's idea first so credit goes to him! 🙂

Yeah, and also, they have better things to do than stalk SDN and facebook. Like go over people's applications. Don't really see the need to change what we do and who we are out of unfounded paranoia.

I have heard of them using facebook. I think that it is more the medical students on the committee who are doing this.

Great! Now I just have to apply to every school in the U.S. and figure out where my offer is coming from 👍

You got into the Hogwarts School of Medicine. You will make a fine wizard. 🙂
