You bring up a valid point... cadavers cost around 4000-5000 big dollars a piece...

With all of our technology and prowess... I think that we'd be able to produce a synthetic cadaver. Not a perfect specimen, cuz no ones internal anatomy is as it looks in Grays or Netters.

I'm sure it's quite possible to do this... just really costly. Bodies are cheaper.
 
halfway down with my overload of secondaries.....

6 in hand, hoping to finish one more today

1 due in 2 weeks (which is my most difficult secondary yet, on 3rd draft)

:laugh: Yeah, that's why I was curious. I would think that tuition, which is always increasing at most schools, is designed to fund the whole "education" thing.

Well I can't be getting secondaries too soon because I only submitted with one school.

I caught 2 typos right before submitting. "alwasy" instead of "always" and "the be" instead of "be the." d'oh!

On another note, I am now going to be confused b/c I keep thinking of Whatyousay when I see BHaus9's Futurama avatar and I keep thinking of Maubs when I see Whatyousay's Zoidberg avatar :d.
 
Last secondary will be turned in on Monday :soexcited:. On to prepare for the two medical school interviews that I have in less than a month :bang:.

Secondaries aren't really that bad. Just don't obsess over them. It's pointless to do so. My mantra with those things... write honestly, and edit for grammar.

After how much I obsessed over my primary, I hope I don't spend too much time on secondaries. I'll try to control myself.

Just get used to the fact... that WHEN you DO get in to medical school, you will not be able to obsess over your patient notes, and treatment plans this much.

Taking 2 months to come up with a patient note? Unheard of... so start now. Efficiency and clarity = concise medical practice.

Realistically every primary care doctor should be able to see 4-5 patients an hour. But most end up seeing only 2-3.

Good point. Most writing I don't obsess about, I just felt this was more important than I probably should have treated it.

I wrote my PS in 2 days. Had it edited. Reviewed it over, had it edited.

I wrote my AMCAS descriptions as brief as possible. My most meaningful experience stuff was written like a blog post.

I tried to keep the application personable. Plus, if there are errors in your app, small ones I mean... then it shows you didn't use a ghost writer. I know for a fact that adcoms HATE when they find out something was ghost written.

My PS is the only thing I obsessed about. My activity descriptions were written pretty quickly and lightly edited.
