Just saw an upper level MechE HW problem on shear forces and support beams. I'm so thankful that I'm not a Engineering major.

So many practice problems done in statics and solid mechanics. Good times...

Shear stress is basically force over area. Its kinda like pressure but not. Its kinda difficult to explain without a picture and equations

I will admit, there are days when I try to figure out how many credit hours I would end up wasting if I switched to chemistry

I had to learn diffy Q a year later from my Fluids prof. Never learned it in the class. Just winged it

I'm in a similar position, except everyone in my class has forgotten much of it. So it's not too bad. I now religiously use wolframalpha when an integral or a diff eq stumps me.
