I vote for a "Kill 'em with Kindness" campaign -- respond to all trolls with compassion/words of encouragement and they will sulk away of their own accord.

in all seriousness though, i feel like the best advice re: dealing with trolls has already been stickied, but many users don't seem to read it (or adhere to it) and continue to fan flames.

this is the point where the utopia rules proposed include "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"
