I love quiche! I made a goat cheese and veggie one a while ago. It was delic.

I am cleaning out my kitchen in preparation for my move. Tonight I made a Thai Kitchen red curry paste stir-fry. You know, add meat, veggies, fish sauce, etc, serve over rice.

The recipe calls for a tablespoon of curry paste; I dumped in the whole jar, and it still tastes flat. Stupid guilo recipes. 😡
 
I forget that everyone here are chefs, I just made myself a simple ham/turkey/salami sandwich for lunch.

Weird. Since you made a stir-fry instead of a curry, you would think it would be even stronger because it wasn't diluted with coconut milk. :shrug:

I know, right? I did the Thai Kitchen green curry paste last week, and that one was a genuine coconut milk based green curry. I dumped the whole jar in on that one too. Conclusion: Thai Kitchen is weak sauce.

Next week: Masala Maza brand Indian goodness. A British guy here recommends putting a roll of toilet paper in the freezer before trying their vindaloo. We shall see.

A friend of mine has exhausted her possibilities, and is now officially contending for class of 2017 🙁

She was hoping to quickly apply from some DO schools yet, but was shocked that the deadlines were either Feb 1st or Mar 1st. 🙄

I'm consulting her hardcore now and we have a plan where her secondaries will be complete by June 25th. 😎 And she's applying to a high-yield, low-cost SMP. Poor thing deserves an acceptance next year.

And Meg, that pizza is ruined by the inclusion of cilantro, the devil herb. I can always tell when someone has snuck some into my food when everything tastes like soap. Anyone else despise cilantro?

i think a lot of people are super anti cilantro. it's metallic/medicinal to them. i think it's biological.

Yeah, it's genetic thing. My mom hates it, too, which is why I never even tasted the stuff until my teenage years (she did all the cooking for the family). I had no idea why my restaurant food tasted like crap. lol

On another note: I hate when doctors/nurses/med students when they wear their lab coats/scrubs in public restaurants... One just past me right now. The lab coat was brownish..,

Disgusting.

public restaurants? that's terrible. i already think it's bad enough for people to wear lab coats outside of clinic/lab.

Yeah a relative of mine had a bad experience at a top 5 hospital. The doctor came in with a really dirty coat with dirt all over it and s/he was going to do a physical exam but my relative said "don't you touch me with those dirty hands! Your lab coat is filthy!"

The doctor was ashamed when s/he noticed and got a new lab coat on and washed hands before the PE.

A nurse in the ER where I volunteer sneezed into her hand, grabbed some bandaging materials, then went and bandaged up a guy's open, bleeding scrapes. No gloves, no hand washing. I was like 😱.
