I am now looking forward to my afternoon snack of Chobani.

My day is sadly defined by food 🙁

Hey folks, I'm currently chilling at O'Hare airport while I wait 2 hours for my connecting flight -__-

How's everyone else doin?

Completely forgot how enormous this airport is.

Completely forgot how enormous this airport is.

When I interviewed for medical school at UND (North Dakota - don't worry, you didn't qualify for the primary) I had to change planes in Minneapolis. I had a fair amount of time, so instead of taking the tram or even the moving walkway, I decided to walk.

OMG the Minneapolis airport has to be the largest airport in the world by acreage, and I've quite familiar with such behemoths as Chicago, Atlanta, and Memphis. The central hub of the airport is the entire "C" concourse, and it's at least two miles long all by itself. I think I walked at least five miles getting from the far end of the G concourse to the far end of the B concourse.

In other news, my Montana friend with the certified waitlist/acceptance mail is going to be standing in line at the post office at 7:30am (the post office opens at 8am). I hope so much it's an acceptance for her. I'll let you guys know the results tomorrow morning, Montana time.

Is the post delivered by horse, or rail? :meanie:

I would love for an opportunity to visit Big Sky Country some time in the future. Best of luck to your friend!

Whoa!!! Only express mail comes by horse. Ordinary mail is transcribed by smoke signal, duh. 🙄 The PO opens at 8am because it is too dark to see the smoke before then. Isn't that how it works in Texas, too?

What about cloudy days?? Postal CHAOS.

Don't worry. In Oklahoma, we live in teepees and ride horses to school. Some things never change.

Hi everyone.

Good luck to the Montana friend.

and SilentSoldier, if you're still waiting around you can try the butternut squash from the wolfgang puck place. I think it's pretty good.

On a totally unrelated post I just needed a bit of advice for this years application season. So here are my stats.

MCAT Score: 89 W (40BS, 30PS, 19VR)
GPA: 3.98 (got a C in Archery- and they didn't count all my A+++ grades)
Volunteer: Started two leper colonies in Bhutan and a suicide prevention center state side.
Shadowing: I work directly with the Surgeon General.
Research: currently only heading three labs for UCSF but embarrassingly didn't cross the half a million NIH funding mark on one of them.

Anyway, I was thinking about retaking my MCAT because I wasn't too happy with my Verbal score. What do you think? and what are my chances at Tufts?

The reason I ask is because my brother didn't get into Tufts, so he went to a state school and thus had to do a residency in the caribbean.

Wait until 2015 to retake the MCAT. They replaced the writing section with a new social awareness section with a numeric score, so you are sure to score at least 33% higher. 👍
