Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Especially a future doctor 😉

Hah, well, she also knows it's not going to last beyond a a few more months when I ship off to school. The doc part mostly helped to ensure I wasn't a creeper. It's a pretty sweet deal, especially after ending a 10 year relationship a few months before meeting her. I'm looking forward to remaining single when I start med school. I don't think any girl would enjoy the absenteeism that comes with med school and residency.

The overwhelming elephant in the room...hot or not?!

There's 2 dummies talking about how they deserve need-based aid because their parents only make $150k

If I could go back in time, I think I would have not been a total idiot and gone to a private school that is putting me in all sorts of lovely undergrad debt. Then again, I actually really like where I am...

Regardless, where the time machines at? Someone should work on that.

Well that fancy private school got you into some fancy med schools so why mess with a good thing 😛

Same. Tons of debt.. unnecessary debt even. I did meet my girlfriend (and perhaps future wife) here, and I do love the city though.

As far as partying goes, I'm just not into it anymore. Idk why.

I'm 37 bro.

Jk. I'm not a 21 year old spring chicken like you guys though. I'll turn 25 during M1

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, I am old! Dang it! I turn 30 during M1 🙁

No, you're not old. I turn 30 during M1 as well.

JK, yeah we're old. :meanie:

pffft, anything below 25 and you should still be able to go HAM and not feel like death the next day.

I remember when I was 24 going on 25 🙄

Annnd now I feel awkwardly young haha cough--noteven21yet--cough. Moving right along... XD

Wow. I turn 25 in the next few months and I feel super duper old. I might as well retire right after med school. :-/

I feel the same way.. I didn't even consider medicine when choosing my undergrad and ended up at a more expensive private school. The opportunities here are amazing though and make it worthwhile so why change a good thing?
Not sure what I would do if I could have a do over

Can you guys believe that this time last year we were all getting set to apply? Time flies.

It's still unreal to think about the fact that I've been accepted.

Desperately would like to start a SDN room for this sometime. LOL
I'm totally down. That'd be freakin' fun!

Similar situation here, didn't decide on medicine until after graduating from a private school, necessitating post-bac tuition and fees (also private). I always wanted to go into medicine but was initially dissuaded and realized I had made a huge mistake when I started my RAII job in the hospital. Doh! Even though I had tons of opportunities, I don't think they were all worth six figures of private loan debt before even starting medical school. That said, I try not to live with regret; it all made me who I am, even the "worst" parts of my life, and culminated in some medical school acceptances.

This. I'd be far happier if I had all that time ahead as vacation rather than working. It makes work go so much slower!

Hey guys I know that you can only hold one acceptance after May 15th. Can someone please give me a link where it explicitly states this and how to narrow down one school? (Emailing ones you're not planning on matriculating with the news vs emailing chosen school with plans of marticulation?)

Also, where does it say that you can hold multiple wait lists after May 15th? I know you can, but some family members aren't convinced with me just knowing. Lol

Nah man, this time last year you and I were over at the 4/20 mcat thread posting in our spare time lol

I took the MCAT for the second and final time exactly one year ago. Dang.

You should celebrate being done with it again 😉 I did not think about it before but perhaps I should do that at least this year, for me it would be April 13... So glad to be done with that test.

this is a joke, right?

Nope they're really there by the ping pong tables. My friend works there and invited a bunch of us in one night. They also have life size cardboard things of the most interesting man alive haha

And then we have USMLE Step 1 to look forward to, the next MCAT. Just like the MCAT, it's the one number that will determine the rest of our lives as physicians, especially for those interested in competitive specialties. At least I'll find the studying far more interesting than optics, stoichiometry, and syntheses! Blargh! :barf:
