Random flame?

Grats on your cycle, holmes! 🙂 Not too many in the great state of TN seen around these parts. Do you think you'll go USU?

Not too sure yet. I'm waiting on so many schools at this point; I have no idea where I am going to end up.

In case anyone is interested in learning more about the current public's opinion on a variety of health-related issues:

"As the 113th Congress is sworn in, and President Barack Obama begins his second term of office, a comprehensive new Kaiser Family Foundation/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/Harvard School of Public Health survey queried the public about their priorities for, and views on, a wide range of health and health policy issues. These include issues that will preoccupy federal lawmakers, such as the role of Medicare in the deficit reduction debate, as well as issues currently being debated in the states surrounding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), such as establishing insurance exchanges and expanding state Medicaid programs.

The survey findings were presented at a Washington, DC briefing featuring speakers from the three organizations and a panel of reporters discussing the policy agenda ahead for President Obama and Congress.

Very interesting read, but nothing surprising. Thanks!

Care for a bullet summary for those of us with other matters today?
They kind of have their own, a PDF of responses: http://www.kff.org/kaiserpolls/upload/8405-T.pdf It'd take me far too long to sum it up in bullet points (especially while at work, mainly kept it up and glanced at it each time I made it back to my desk from the wards). But you see what you'd expect from such a survey. The majority does not want to repeal ACA, feels that reform is important (mostly access and affordability), does not want to reduce medicare, wouldn't mind reducing medicaid slightly, et cetera. You can do a quick glance and get the gist of the current milieu.

The presenters made a big deal of how both democrats and republicans think that the deficit should be addressed without reductions in Medicare (81 & 76% respectively). Also, on page 10 "Partisan Differences On Role Of Government In Health Care." It was mentioned that in the past Republicans would look very favorably to the state having a more active role than the federal government (described as opposite views - Dems wanted more fed, Reps wanted more state). This time, republicans don't care about federal vs. state, the moment the word "government" is mentioned they say "No."

After hassling my parents to do their taxes early this year...they're nearly done and I haven't gotten my W2 or 1099 (even though we use the same bank??) yet. Feels bad man.

I think they have to get them to you by Jan 31st? I am still waiting for 1...

Yup. Federal law requires t be distributed by the end of Jan. Unfortunately for us most of our employers procrastinate until the very last minute 🙁.
