I learned how to drive a manual car this weekend, it was so much fun except I stalled the car like 5 times (most while parking)

why did no one tell me it was so fun?

really thats disappointing

the guy teaching me was shocked that i could drive the car so easily apparently i either have watched too many movies with manual cars or played those driving arcade games with the manual option

Haha I mean it can be fun. But when you are driving in the city or somewhere that you stop frequently it can be annoying.

since video games are apparently excellent teachers do you think they can build a video game that lets us pretend to doctor/do surgeries

The city or all of southern California. I drive everyday in ~3 hours of traffic to work and back in my awesome automatic. I was |--| close to buying a manual back when I didn't drive anywhere but my parents convinced me otherwise. I am thankful everyday that they smacked some sense into me. Every day traffic with a manual????? :scared:

hmmm maybe i should avoid manual then

I already cant stand the drivers here. You have to drive in the slow lane to pass people, and people in the fast lane are going bellow the speed limit

so Tots stupid question here

what is this "test prep week" you speak of

i dont get it

Ah...to borrow from one of the threads plugging test prep week:

Visit SDN's Test Prep Week, where we have vendors (and their representatives) here who will discuss their products and answer questions that you may have. Some of the vendors will also offer contests and promotions where you can win some of their products (or get discounts on their products). It's free to use, and free to ask - so take advantage.

They have, check out the game that my avatar is based off of.

whats the game? i couldn't tell from your avatar

Trauma Center: Under the Knife. its a series of medically themed games for the DS and Wii. They're pretty awesome, and hard, but pretty fun.

Can we get free stuff from test week?

Also, enjoying my first bowl of oatmeal in a few days.

12oz skim milk
60g oats
whole apple
2tbsp peanut butter
20g chocolate chips

😀😀

ugh skim milk. its like putting water into my cereal/oatmeal. I prefer 2%

Woot Surprise top by a 2018er. Take that suckas!!

2% milk is like muddy water.

nah, it looks far more like regular milk than skim milk does. dirty water is what my Ochem professor actually called skim milk when we extracted the lactose from it.

Can I sell it to some pre-med?

Probably. Idk if they give rewards in your name and you have to take it or not.

Sent from my Galaxy S2, I think. But I don't really know, I'm just a lowly premed.

Accidentally wound up spending the night at the gf's place and now I'm still up at 4 a.m. with work at 6. FML.

That awkward moment when the two Hispanic kids are making fun of your parallel parking in Spanish and you respond to them in Spanish then watch their faces shift into embarrassment.

Owned

Sent from my SGH-T999 using SDN Mobile

Nah...

Ath the end of the day, Doctor Strange can't parallel park.:laugh:

:meanie:

Good morning 2017s,

Back from SoCal, Midway was way better than O'hare (only 15min delay - Southwest FTW). Got to see Real Time with Bill Maher live 🙂 and now I have to finish a ppt for a 10am mtg :/ Good thing there is coffee...

So I finally finished that interest survey, was surprised by the results, changed some answers and it didn't really change.

Top ten:
Radiology-diagnostic. 77%
Ophthalmology 76%
Dermatology 76%
Anesthesiology 76%
IM-pulmonary 75%
IM-infectious 75%
Neuro Surg 75%
Colorectal Surg 75%
Urology 74%
Thoracic surgery 74%

Sigh. If this is true I better kill on the boards. Lol

Just caught up.

This survey has 80 questions?!

Yeah but most of them just involve sliding a bar from 1-10.

In other news, I wish that long weekend was longer. Back to the grind I guess! (aka get paid to sit around all day )

Top ten:

Emergency Medicine 77%
Radiology - Diagnostic 76%
Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology 75%
Preventative Medicine - Aerospace 75%
Plastic Surgery 74%
Anesthesiology 73%
Preventative Medicine - Public Health and General 72%
Pediatrics 71%
Preventative Medicine - Occupational 71%
Nuclear Medicine 71%

Most of IM ranked in the bottom half for me.

I'm really intrigued by this preventative medicine for aerospace thing.

Just did the survey! It's interesting--working in clinical imaging over the last few years seems to have impacted me a lot. Always thought I'd be interested in some kind of surgical specialty, but it's interesting how the surgical specialties show up lower down on my list. And derm...idk I think that's up there because I put that I value time off haha. Never thought it would show up but it's interesting.
