I finished my research and did not get a publication. It was never work for a publication. I just changed industry standards and got a log reduction of E. coli. Nobody will ever know my work. I am like a silent killer (of E. coli).

My research output of the day was discovering that my new real time primers are non specific.

Thanks for nothing, Primer-BLAST.

Tru dat. But if I get into OHSU I'll have to join you either this summer or during a Spring quarter to take genetics, my least favorite subject in medicine and science.

I 😍 genetics. c. elegans are too cool. I'll help you with your hw 😎

I am currently receiving clearance to submit my paper 😀 first author!!

Congrats to all!!!
This deployment ends on Friday. Ill be heading home and spending more time sleeping! It's been a hell of a week!

Whew. I would've have wet myself here in worries and fear.... 😳😳😳

Congrats in helping out with Red Cross efforts!

Thanks! I've been doing it for years. Gotten a few humanitarianism awards. 🙂

Anyone else volunteer with them?

Also, I'm willing to bet two boxes of corn, four boxes of cotton and six boxes of wool that Guero is not a Southerner.

Isn't that publication worthy ?

:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:and one :boom: for good measure

had to edit to account for this error "You have included 74 images in your message. You are limited to using 10 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again. "

Stick a dagger in my heart and twist the blade.

Nobody had done a comparison study before. Maybe someone will add my name to the paper in the future. Who knows.

Just did the survey! It's interesting--working in clinical imaging over the last few years seems to have impacted me a lot. Always thought I'd be interested in some kind of surgical specialty, but it's interesting how the surgical specialties show up lower down on my list. And derm...idk I think that's up there because I put that I value time off haha. Never thought it would show up but it's interesting.

Dermatology 86% Personality Match
...

Just remember this survey has nothing to do with interests. It is simply measuring (roughly) how well your personality and lifestyle match their perception of the stereotypical lifestyle of those in the various professions.

Although nuances in lifestyle and personality can certainly affect one's fit in a particular area, I think interest and passion for that field is what will carry the day. These two (most important) things are not measured by this survey. But taken with a grain of salt I thought the survey was fun 😀.

Thoracic Surgery 88% Personality Match
Internal Medicine - Infectious Diseases 86% Personality Match
Psychiatry 86% Personality Match
Internal Medicine - Nephrology 83% Personality Match
Plastic Surgery 83% Personality Match
...
Neurological Surgery 77% Personality Match
...
Neurology 72% Personality Match
...
Emergency Medicine 57% Personality Match

Neurosurg top in passion so together with a relatively high personality fit 👍.
Not much interest in thoracic. Strangely enough EM is super interesting and on my list of possibilities, didn't expect it to be so low. My guess is it's just because I don't care if I have an irregular schedule. Just because I don't mind an irregular schedule doesn't mean I dislike a regular one though lol.

Why is the needaccess application so annoying. Am I going into primary care? Yes or No? Where is the I have no idea button. Also: "Enter three specialties you are interested in:" "Internal medicine, Pe" <--Out of characters..-_-' Also some of these questions are like 😕😕

No kidding. Many of the questions seem to have been written based on the premise that the people answering them already know exactly what they want to do. I want the "It's not my top choice now, but let me give it a whirl and I may just change my mind" button.

I had a situation like that the PI hadn't thought about writing the paper until I handed it to him then he was so impressed that bang the company is letting me publish

I used to volunteer as a medic for a branch if the Red Cross its how I got into end work

Congrats!!! And congrats to you, too, impermanence. I'll totally take you up on that offer if you're serious. LoL

Sure thing.

On an unrelated note- do you guys get e-mails asking for interview feedback? This whole MMI confidentially thing makes me wonder how much I can really say beyond "it was not stressful."

Yep, I get those all the time. You can discuss the MMIs when the school is asking you about your experience. The NDA only covers those outside the administration.

Awesome, thanks! And lulz @ the hyperbolic use of emoticons.

I never had an MMI while I was applying. I am thankful for that too. I can rock the one on one interviews. Plus, having like no time limit is a plus. One of my interviews went on for an hour and a half when it was only scheduled for thirty minutes.

I thought the MMIs were fun. When they say you have 8 stations it seems like a lot but the time really flies by.

By e-mails I should have said PMs from SDN folks... Specially those with 8+ questions about the experience...

I liked my MMIs, perhaps a bit more than the one-on-one interviews.

Hah! Yeah that makes a huge difference! I get one every now and then, but not that many. And you can't say a darn thing. Aaaawkwaaard!
