just a heads up to anyone considering St. Louis for med school...

the weather makes NO SENSE. ever. It could be 70 one day and then have random winter storm/blizzard conditions two days later (that happened last week)

Also, don't believe that "most dangerous city in America" bs. StL is a city. don't be stupid and you'll be fine.

From the Lou, and I'm proud (regardless of where I end up next year)

Is anyone else going to be directly affected(furloughed) if this whole sequestration deal is not solved? I so wish that we got to pick the days we'd be off 😛

Thankfully I am employed by the state and not the federal government. I won't be furloughed.

Missing all the fun! Then again, state employees have not been doing too well either. I think that we've lost ~55,000 public healh local & state staff in the last 3-4 years.

Thankfully, even though I'm working at the VA, I'm essentially "on loan" by the nearby academic medical center. Even at that, we're working under a grant. So we won't be affected. But I feel for those that will. Furloughs blow, man. 🙁

Well, unfortunately, the VA will most likely feel it a bit among the non-essential departments. My crew and I are just outside that realm due to the nature of how were set up.

Nope. I'm never announcing where I'm matriculating and I'm making a new account when I start school. I've actually already got an account made so it won't be new in July.

I was gonna work through the summer, but planned a 2-month long backpacking trip through Europe with the SO instead 😀. It'll be awesome, though I'll be waving goodbye to all my savings that I didn't already spend on the application process...

I could use this to describe a lot of cities. Most of them just happen to be in the Midwest....

I'm quite different irl than I am on SDN. So not only am I protecting myself against a cat in the hat type situation, but I'm also protecting myself from classmates thinking the MedPR persona is reality and/or thinking I'm bipolar.
