Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A bunch of medical students are studying limb material in the cadaver lab and they couldn't figure out the brachial plexus. They kept saying "I'm not sure, do you know?" to each other. It felt good to walk over, name every nerve and muscle in the region when I was tired of listening to it. I did it in a helpful and not arrogant way. Does this mean that maybe I can survive first year of medical school material? Maybe I was just lucky.

Why do I have these feelings?

I recently had a similar experience with some med students that couldn't get their diuretics straight. Instead, I just continued eating lunch with my pharmacy friends and laughed quietly.

I don't even know what a brachial plexus is. Does this mean I am going to fail out of medical school? 🙁

Thank god baseball is back! I'm telling you, kids nowadays just don't appreciate America's past-time...

Pfft, as far as I'm concerned its still the off season for football. Reading about all the stuff going on with trades and free agency, especially concerning my Niners.

ALSO this is a total long shot and a personal plug but does anyone here currently live in San Francisco? I'm currently debating whether I'm going to move out there for school or not and a big consideration for me is my SO (I'll probably post this question in the school specific discussions at some point because the choice I have to make by May 15 is eating away at me!!).

Anyway, if we move out there he'll have to find a job and obviously it's preferable to have something lined up by the time I have to start school and pay rent. Does ANYONE have a health related job (he's applying to med school in the future also) that they or a friend is giving up to go to school this year in SF? Or know of how to best look for hospital jobs in this city?

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help and advice. Y'all know how stressful this thing is and I'd like to make both mine and his decisions as easy as humanly possible 🙂 thanks guys! 😍

I live in Oakland and work in the East Bay - check out my MDapps for some stuff about the job I'm at now. We're actually hiring for my position...(and I'm doing interviews) so PM me if you want more info

 I approve. I own all seasons, even the last 2 that don't exist.

What even...I...
PM'ed you, thanks SO much! This is when I love SDN 😀
I also +1 submitting to hospital HR departments. It just takes exhaustively sending out your resume. That's how I got my position and just kept on climbing. Some departments are worse than others. Good luck!

Maybe this was already discussed but....is this thread still going to be in Pre-Allo when we're in med school and beyond??

Yep. The class of 2014 gets posted on every day in pre-allo.

So...none of the mods would move it? I probably wouldn't check it if it's in Pre-Allo. Not guaranteeing that I'll even check SDN once we enroll.

Yes we keep all the social threads in pre allo. You can subscribe to the thread if you don't think you will ever come back to pre allo. I encourage to visit pre allo on a occasion and offer advice to future premeds.

well there's really only one season that doesn't exist. I thought that the last season ended quite well actually. Dat hallway scene

I have only seen a couple of episodes and never really got into it... My vote nay, but then again it could be fun.

Correct, I had my timeline mixed up, the "ninth" doesn't actually exist.
I haven't watched Scrubs in years... should I do a Scrubs marathon and watch every episode before med school starts? Yay or nay?
ASBOLUTELY! I did and it rocked!

yay, all 8 seasons. cause there's only 8, some people think that there's 7 but the 8th is actually okay too. Remember: At least 7, at most 8.

Cool, thanks guys 👍

My mom just emailed me this:

I guess middle aged people are in to cat memes now. What has this world become? I blame Facebook.

Gonna rewatch all 100 episodes of niptuck. Gonna have to learn from Christian what it takes to match into plastics.

DMMP: Doesn't matter, matched plastics. LoL (Stolen from a resident that matched derm in one of the other forums whose username eludes me ATM.)

Nice, I remember reading that acronym (DMMD) and I thought to myself, DAMN... that's good!

Pretty neat, although it's pretty sad that not many med students return to post in class threads.
