Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You are not a noob. WWAMI stands for Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.

Each state has a campus for their students. 20 from Alaska, Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. Out of state people go to Seattle. The WA residents are spread among Seattle, Spokane and Pullman. Many WA residents have been told their placement but I haven't. Nobody from Seattle knows, but I could still be placed in Pullman or Spokane last minute.

The plus of so many campuses means that class sizes are about 20 at each site except Pullman (40) where I currently live and Seattle (like 80 will be there for first year).

Second year, everyone goes to Seattle. Third/fourth year you are spread across the five states of WWAMI. You get way more hands on clinical stuff since there are no residents to compete with outside of Seattle.

Wow that makes little sense to an east coaster. This is all part of the same school? To make sure that all the residents of those states have an "in state" med school? That would be really nice for the clinical years.

Edit: oh hai, I got TOP. :soexcited:

All campuses have the same tests and learning expectations. When you do the preceptorship first year you get do more too.

It is all for the small class size and to get the wwami students to do stuff in their home states.

It must work since they are #12 in the nation and #2 in primary care.

When does the new BABS avatar come out?

Agent B, are you a 2017er or a 2018er? Or do you just post in all the threads?

Only on 2016, 2017 and 2018 threads. I occasionally post on the 2019 thread, but I stopped because I got bored.

Also, I'm probably a resident now. :naughty:

I'm a 2019er.....

Brought salt N vinegar kettle chips for lunch, but noming away right now before my morning coffe: lol, 'marnin folks! :hello:

I realllllly don't want to go to work today. It's so nice out, I just want to enjoy the weather for once :/

Please just promise me that before we all start M1 that you'll make one with him holding a 40oz Mickey in one hand and a blunt in the other. 🙂

Or just do that for real...

Just like no one under 21 should drink 😀
 Precisely. 😛
Dang, too bad I don't live in Washington...😉

But in reality, I don't touch the stuff.
You poor, poor soul. So long as you use edibles, there's really no downside. Indica is so calming and relaxing. I'd actually quit drinking if I had a cannabis card or if I lived in either of those states.
We are 7k away from passing the c/o 2015 thread.
Wow.

True that.

It's amazing how utterly benign cannabis is when compared to the deleterious effects of EtOH: THC, ftw!

Haha you are preaching to the choir dude. My father always told me growing up that he'd rather have me smoking than drinking. Alcohol ruins so many lives, both directly and indirectly. Ah well, can't fight the politics surrounding all of it.

Wow.

My guess is that Oregon isn't that far off from legalizing the stuff anyway. They've probably already decriminalized it anyway.

Well, they have cannabis cards. But I have no idea how difficult it'll be to obtain one and if the med school will recognize my card during drug tests. :/ I hope you're right, though. The whole notion of cannabis prohibition is pure farce and political balderdash.
Doin it right Sir
LoL, time to reopen the bag: It's lunchtime!
Probably the greatest Chappelle's show skit ever. Still gets me everytime.
Dude, definitely one of my all time favorites! I laughed so hard I cried when he pulled out the assault rifle and went Ape on the cop!

I'm not actually a fan either, but I do wonder...you think UW will continue the practice of testing for it? Admission isn't contingent on screening negative for other legal substances, so it doesn't seem like there would still be a basis for it.

Unlike OHSU, which includes it...I wonder about native Oregonians with cannabis cards and if they're exempt...

You're joking right? Please tell me you're joking

That's kind of a grey area...but being a legal Rx doesn't mean they will stop testing for it. After all, they test for illicit use of painkillers. But in WA it's legal without needing to be classed as an Rx.
