I was thinking of reading the books before watching the show...

Honestly the books are sooo much better (aren't they always 😛) you getter a better feel for the characters and what they're thinking, plus George RR Martin is a great writer. I'm not a big reader myself but I am hooked on this series, only downside is waiting for the next book to be released 🙁
