Don't most journals have a word limit?

Hmmm, I don't know. I'm sure he will take out things he doesn't like. Usually my papers look nothing like the way I wrote them when he is finished.

Guess he just likes having a skeleton to work with so he doesn't have to write it himself?

ftfy. But I suppose you care about research a lot. I care most about patient care. To each his own. 👍

Haha well research is indirect patient care. The way I see it, I want to help millions of people; much more than I could directly help on my own.

. 🙁 Wifey beat me to the does not want cereal post.

Tots just broke my heart.

Will be joining you at Stritch!

Still on Pritzker's waitlist but I highly doubt that will pan out, and very much in love with Stritch at this point.

Congrats

Congrats Tots!

Do any of you guys know anything about PA school? My sister is thinking about it and I don't really know anything about how admissions work, or what it takes to be "competitive". I'll check teh Google, but figured at least one of you knows someone who's applied to PA school. PM me if you don't feel like filling this thread with non-medical school stuff. Not that most of it isn't already filled with non-medical school stuff anyway... haha

What would a polar bear know about "cold"? You're warm all the time without having to wear clothes!

fur coat != nekkidness 😛

Blizzard, hailstorm, haboob, family photos, take your pic.

Edit:
Looks like anguisette beat me to the general gist of my post. Well played

i didn't think of family photos though. that'd be super awkward.

Congrats Tots!

the only thing i know is that they usually require A LOT of clinical volunteering hours

Yeah, I've heard of some schools requiring 1000+ hours.

+2. Heard this also. I (kinda) know one girl in PA school. She certainly wasn't the smartest little nugget, but she put in her time and got accepted.

Yup. At least like in the 500+ range I think. I volunteered with a lot of PA applicants.

I think they also usually need a PA LOR too?

Thanks guys 😀

You probably already found this, but if you haven't:
http://career.utk.edu/pdf/PA Requirement.pdf

Wake Forest has a pretty detailed page:
http://www.wakehealth.edu/Academic-Programs/Physician-Assistant-Program/Admission-Requirements.htm
(note the person with >25,000 medical experience hours! Probably were an EMT or nurse)

Baylor's stats for 2011: The mean grade point average was 3.70 and the average GRE score was 1213 (verbal and quantitative) and 4.20 on the analytical writing score.

^seems very competitive

Anyone try Captain Morgan pre-mixed Long Island iced tea?

Nope, how is it?

Haven't tried it yet, it was on sale at the liquor store so I figured I'd give it a shot and try something new. I will let you know in a bit when I get out of work.

I have and it wasn't that good.

My advice is to not keep it in the freezer because it becomes thick like syrup.

Haha maybe that's why it was so cheap then 😛. Ah well, I've still got some Bombay if I don't like it.

Just got placed in Seattle for first year! Rachelkj and I will be classmates that actually have classes together! I am moving in July.

I find that its generally a good idea to not buy any premade mixed drink. They barely qualify as alcoholic in most cases.

Oh look at that, surprise top 😀 😎
